<Vanessa's POV>

“A-a blessing?” I asked Will, stunned from the impact of his previous statement.

“Yes. Apollo  ̶  father  ̶   has put a blessing upon you when you were born.” He told me.

I was taken back.

 “Vanessa, when you were sick when you were a child, did you ever sing to yourself?” He asked.

 “Yeah, all the time. But I was rarely ever sick because… oh my gods that’s why! I never even realized it.” I said. Honestly, I am so scared right now.

 “Well, I’m gonna go for a walk, to just, uh, take it all in, okay? I’ll be back in an hour or so.” So I picked up my writing book and bow and arrow.

 It was only eight o’clock, so I just quickly escaped to the place I loved: the woods.

 “Uh, dad… I mean, um, Lord Apollo. If your listening right now, I just want to ask… why me with this healing thing?” I whispered into the night sky.

 The sky shimmered a beautiful gold and purple, and my father showed up before me.

 “Ah, Vanessa, how have you been?” He asked me, but I just stood there, staring at him.

“How have I been?” I retorted. “How have you been? You just decide to leave me when I’m young, and ditch mom? She needed you dad, and you just… you just left.” I screamed.

 “Yeah, and what about this ‘blessing’ you put on me? Why me?” I asked him.

 “SSH SSH, Vanessa, keep it down… this gift of yours…. It is also a curse. I must depart back to Olympus soon, so just remember this: be careful who you trust…” And with that he just faded away.

 I sat down when a little bunny came up to me, limping, instead of hopping.

 Hmm, I thought to myself. Maybe this blessing thing works on animals too… I pondered that thought… and so I tried it.

 I tested it out with Taylor Swift’s, Safe and Sound.

 Just close your eyes, the sun is going down.

 You’ll be alright, no one can hurt you now.

 Come morning light, you and I’ll be safe, and, sound.

 The bunny then jumped up and hopped away.

 “There you go, little guy, be safe!”  I whispered into his ear.

 I heard a rustling in the tree above me and quickly loaded my bow with an arrow.

 “Who go’s there?” I yelled up at the tree.

 <Nico’s POV>

 “Ahhh!” I yelled as I fell out of the tree.

 “N-nico?” Vanessa stammered, lowering her bow.

 I put my arms up and slowly backed away.

 “Yeah it’s just me, sorry. I should get going now anyways, see you later” I responded back.

 “Wait Nico,” she smiled, “Do you want to stay and talk?”

 “I-you want me to talk to you?” I asked, amazed by her smile.

 Stop Nico, love is disappointing. I thought to myself.

 “Yes, why?” she questioned.
