I stood in front of my house. I walked home. I opened the door. My mom smiled at me.
I had to lie to her saying I was at a sleepover with friends.
" how was the sleepover?" My mom asked me. I couldn't find the words.
" umm good I guess." I said. My voice still had emotion in it and was a little higher than a whisper.
" what do you mean I guess?" My mom asked.
" nothing I mean it was a blast." My voice fell flat.
" why don't you put your sweatshirt in the hamper and get ready to eat." My mom told me.
" my sweatshirt isn't dirty and I already ate." I replied.
" Lilly what's wrong? And take your hood down." My mom said.
" I don't want to and everything is fine." I ran upstairs to my room crying. Pain shot down my face. A nock came from my door.
" I want to be alone right now!" I yelled.
" Lilly I want to talk to you. Please open the door." My mom told me.
" leave me alone." I yelled again. My mom sighed and walked back down the stairs.
I put the hood down looked at my refection. My tears looked like I was crying blood. I ducked my head as I went into the bathroom and cleaned the blood off. My mom opened the bathroom door. She gasped at my face.
" Lilly what happened?!" My mom asked.
" I was walking home and I fell." I answered using Kale's fake reason.
" this doesn't look like just a fall." My mom said.
" it is. I hit my lip on a rock when I fell." I explained hoping she would buy it.
" Lilly what really happened? Did some one hurt you?" My mom asked with concern.
" mom it's fine, just a few scratches won't hurt." I answered.
Before my mom could say another word I walked back into my room. I locked the door and sat down on my bed and pulled out my notebook. I feel so guilty for lying to her, I wrote down. It's not her fault. It's just if he found out.... I don't know what would happen. I know that from ignoring this, it will only get worse. I know that I am lying to myself about the truth. I know that this will continue and that I will get hurt even more. I stopped writing, my phone started buzzing.
" yeah." I answered.
" hey." Kale's voice said.
" hi." My strong voice lowered because of my fear.
" how did it go? Did your parents notice your face?" Kale asked.
" yeah, I just said what you told me to say. They didn't believe me though but I didn't say anything about what happened." I answered.
" you better have not." Kale warned. " school is tomorrow so I suggest the hoodie and dark sunglasses. That should hold up." Kale said.
" I will." I said.
" okay i got to go so bye." Then Kale hung up. I sighed. Tomorrow, school. Another day to hide the truth about what happened.
