"No! Please! You can't do this!" I begged and pleaded as the tears streamed down my face. I was cornered, trapped with my back against the wall in this dark, dark room. His eyes were filled with so much hate and anger.
I watched as his grip on the gun tightened and his hand began to shake. I could hear the pain in his voice. "You said you loved me." I watched in fear as blood began to fall from his eyes in place of the tears. "Please, don't do this."
I reached down to my pregnant belly, only to find it flat. My heart stopped as I looked down at my stomach. "My baby, where's my baby?" He began to laugh sinisterly, causing my tears to fall harder. "Now you get to feel how I feel. Stupid bitch!"
His voice echoed, causing me to crouch down, close my eyes, and cover my ears. "No! No! Just stop! Where's my baby?" The sound of a baby crying caught my attention. I looked around the field of roses as the sun shined brightly.
I looked over, seeing his body laying on the ground limp, with a gun shot wound between his eyes. I listened as the baby's cries grew louder. "Baby? Where are you? Mommy's here, where are you? Please, I need you."
Just as I got closer to the cries, there was a harsh grip around my waist, pulling me away. I kicked and screamed as I fought my way out, but I couldn't move, I was stuck, I was...
"Leah! Leah! Baby! Leah!" The sound of my husband's voice caught my attention. Realizing I was back in our bedroom, I focused on getting my heavy breathing under control, as he still had a strong grip around my waist. He pulled me into him as I released the tears that were fighting to come out.
"Just breath baby. It was just another nightmare, I'm here, the kids are okay, relax." I squeezed him tighter as he wiped the sweat from my forehead. Almost every night, these horrible nightmares happened. It was as if my past was haunting me.
I was just thankful that I had Ryan here with me. Like the perfect husband he was, he was always at the right place, at the right time.
