Cato's POV

After a hard day of training, I went home to talk to my father.

As soon as I stepped in his office, I could tell he was pissed. "Cato, you need to try harder if you want to be in the Games this year," He said as he got up and walked around to his desk. He had been in the Games when he was around my age so he was always pushing me to train harder. " I know Father," I said as I sat down. "Train harder, push yourself to do your hardest. I know that you are capable of doing that." I nodded as he dismissed me to go and train.

-Time Skip-

Later that night I laid in bed thinking about The girl who broke Courtney's nose, who I found out that her name was Clove, for some reason. She trained like it was nothing. I was slacking off lately from all the chaos of my family giving me pep talks about the Games and the celebrations my parents have been having more recently. I finally went to bed after deciding that I would try and train without distractions.

- A week later -
Clove's POV

I remember the day I had to train with Cato. "Partnered with Clove Kentwell is Cato Hadley," I rolled my eyes with annoyance. " Let's practice with swords first," he said as he was walking away from me. "I'm not going to follow your orders. I'm not a damn dog." He huffed with annoyance and turned to me.

"Fine, princess. We'll do whatever you want to do first," he said. I glared at him and turned to go to the knives station.

He couldn't throw a knife if his life depended on it. He kept raising his arm too far back or he threw it too slow.

Finally, I got sick of it and showed him how to throw. "Raise your arm like this. No, like this." I grabbed his arm and raised it the way he should've had it. I could tell that he was getting aggravated.

" Remember to aim for the target. Now try to throw," I said as motioned him to go on. He actually hit the outline so, he was getting better.

Next we went to the swords. I knew  that I was bad with swords. I was small and they were heavy to hold on to.

He had to help me learn how to hold on to the sword and how to keep my stance when I was fighting someone.

Thankfully, it was time to leave after Cato and I stopped training with the swords.

I was glad that Cato didn't distract me from training and showed me new things. I still didn't like him though. He was still a distraction like everyone else.
