I was imprisoned in a tower for as long as I can remember, all my needs were taken care of magic.
But one night something or someone came to rescue me... But with a price.
"Let's go" he said and I was stunned because of how strong and quick his movements were when he carried me and jumped out of the tower. I clung to his neck for support which earned him a smirk.
"I'm Emerald. What's your name?"
"Maximus."
I wonder who was this guy. He was the first person I saw in my 17 years of existence because of being locked up in that tower.
I have an idea about the outside world since the magical tower provided me almost all of the things I need including a library full of books. I read a lot of science fiction, romance, science, history books, math books, even the bible, and a lot more.
But I had never thought that there are people like him... He had supernatural strength that I only read in fantasy books which were obviously fiction... So what I read in fictional books are true?
But what was he exactly?
I looked up at him with questioning eyes and I didn't thought I was staring for a long time when he looked down at me.
"Is there a problem little thing?"
Little thing? I'm seventeen...
"Where are you taking me?"
"To the castle."
"Where?"
"North of here."
I just nodded not sure what to say next. I have no idea what's going on so I just go with the flow. Plus he was my rescuer so he probably won't hurt me right?
"Not to be rude but, what are you? You're the first man I ever saw but you're opposite of what I read in the library of the tower about us humans."
"So you read books in that tower?"
"Yes, I don't know any thing I can do there but to read..."
He stayed silent for a while before answering again.
"You read about bloodsucking demons?"
"Yes..."
I didn't said anything after that. I don't want to irritate him because of being talkative but I can't help it. I never talked to anyone ever! Good thing I even learned to talk there in that tower...
Just like what he said, after a few minutes of running with his super speed, we arrived in a castle. We were immediately welcomed by guards in uniforms. Just like Maximus, I stared at them with fascination.
Maximus caught me looking at them and growled before ordering them to leave us alone.
He once carried me quickly and when I opened my eyes we were in a large bedroom. He laid me down on the bed carefully while I just looked around with interest.
"Maximus, what was the price you were talking about in exchange of my freedom from that tower?"
He laid down beside me and engulfed me with his strong amrs. "Marry me."
