I hate Chase Anders. I feel like I haven't said this enough times. He made me wake up at six. Haul my ass to school by 7:35 --using public transport at that and then made me wait for him for about 15 minutes outside his locker.
All for what?
To clean up his stupid locker.
It was the most unnecessary thing ever.
His locker wasn't even that dirty so this whole thing didn't even make any sense. He sat on the floor next to his locker the entire time, typing on his phone while I folded his jerseys and arranged his books and stationary.
All this happened last Tuesday. Now we were finally a week and a half past that. He hadn't asked anything major off of me yet. Just occasional book drop offs at the library and juice pouches from my lunch. Nothing major, really.
Through the days I had seen Chase quite a few times. He'd nod or straight up ignore me. I didn't mind. It was easier this way. In class I tried ignoring him as much as I could but then our English teacher paired us together for our upcoming projects.
An awful coincidence.
Andrew and Alex seemed to become better friends considering they were chemistry lab partners. Because of this sudden friendship we found ourselves in the company of Alex quite often. Occasionally Chase would be with him too, silently listening to the everything and speaking only when he was required to.

It was Friday now. Zoey and I were walking towards the lunch room. I was famished. History just made me so tired. Really.
"I think we should hang out after school. My place maybe." Zoe says as she ties her hair up in a pony tail.
"Uh- okay, I guess?" I say rather unsure.
"Why do you sound so surprised? Schools been going on for two weeks now. I really, really want a sleepover." She says with finality.
"Yeah, yeah. Of course. Your place after school. Got it." I confirm.
We find ourselves a seat in the courtyard after collecting our food. We talk about random things ranging from internet feuds to books we read. After a while, a laughing Andrew and Alex make their way to the courtyard and seat themselves next to us.
Zoey raises and eyebrow and looks at me. Alex generally sat with Chase and the 'popular' kids. It was a first having him sit next to us. I just shrug.
"Where's Chase?" Zoey asks.
"Oh he's with Julian and Nate. They're setting up for the surprise birthday party for Hailey tonight." Suddenly he looks like he has the best idea ever and says "You know what, you guys should come too. Andrew is already invited by Julian so it's just the both of you. It'll be fun." He says almost as if he likes the plan better and better as it spews out of his mouth.
"Wait, really? That's great. I've been wanting to do something for two weeks now. Ugh." Zoe almost groans out.
Well, there goes the sleepover.
"How come you're here if all your friends are out there planning a party." I ask curiously.
"Oh, I was there through last night, helping around. Those two got there today morning so I took the chance and left." Alex replies shrugging.
Chase, Alex, Nate and Julian is what we would call a -group of best friends. These were the only set of guys Chase would actually talk/hang out with after whatever phase he went through in junior year. Mind you, he still had everyone out there wanting to be him, his friend or his girlfriend but he had just become more closed of. Completely different from the way he used to be in the first two years of high school.
