Henry reached the car and pulled the door open, breathing heavily. Abraham gave him a look of minor irritation.

"Dad..... Who got shot? And what was that all about?"

"Abraham; I'm sorry for smashing your phone...... And.... Jo got shot."

His son's eyes widened beyond what should have been their stopping point. "What the hell? I- Is she...."

Henry looked Abraham, eyes wide as well. "I don't know! Her body... Abe.... Her body disappeared! Vanished without a trace!"

Abraham put a hand to his father's head, concern showing in his eyes. "You're kind of warm, Dad, are you okay?"

"Yes! It's a matter of exerction. Can you give me a quarter?"

"A quarter? Wha-"

"Payphone."

"Oh. Y-yes... I got one..." He said, reaching for his wallet, which was placed on the dashboard. "Who you gonna call?"

"The Detective's house. She has to have gone there, unless......." He trailed off and his eyes widened again. His heart rate sped up considerably from where it already was, and warmth bloomed in his cheeks. Abraham stared at his dad.

"Uh.... You good there.....?"

"Wh- Yes. Good." He took the quarter and got out, fighting his way through the crowds. Already CSIs were at the scene, analyzing the heart. Police were keeping the people at bay and scanning for suspects as to who else was involved.

Henry was about to give up the search when he saw her.

"Jo?"

She marched right up to him, even bowling over two burly men standing a few feet away. He was about to ask her what happened, to see if it was the same as him, when she grabbed his head and kissed him.

For Henry, it was such a shock he nearly pulled away. As it was, he merely stepped put of an old lady's way (The woman was muttering something about 'kids these days, kissing and in public') and contented himself with staring into her eyes with his own shock-widened ones.

For Jo, it was completely different. While she herself hadn't expected it to happen, something on an unconsious level clicked, and she just kissed him, relishing the feel of another man's lips on her own.

Finally she drew back and stared at him. Henry stared back, unable to do anything else.

"What happened to me?" She asked. He simply continued staring, mouth parted and jaw slack. He hadn't kissed someone in...... Hell, he didn't remember. But it was a long time...... And it felt good. She seemed, he realized, like Abigail.

"You.... Y-You were..... Shot....."

"Oh. Right. About that." She murmered. Henry -suprising himself- suddenly decided he wished, very much so, to be alone with her. He now understood why Abraham always was on the lookout for a woman, a girlfriend.

"Did you have a- A sudden surge of memories? ......Almost like a, uh, a television?"

"Yeah! That's exactly it, Henry!"

His heart fluttered briefly. There was, of course, still the concept of Adam. But now he felt overjoyed that someone was on his side, with his very curse.....

"Jo, did you..... 'Come back', one would say...... Naked?" He felt hesitant to ask the question. She nodded.

"Henry, I can't believe this. It's like I'm..... Immortal..... Crazy... Maybe I am." She appeared to ponder it for a minute. Henry looked at her and felt a rush of dizziness. Abraham pulled the car up from the street and rolled the window down. When he caught sight of the two of them, he couldn't resist.
