"You're crazy," Lauren exclaimed, "there is absolutely no way I am wearing that."

"You're just being dramatic," Emily said, "It's not that bad, and I don't see you coming up with any better ideas. Trust me, it's no big deal."

"What do you mean 'no big deal'?" Lauren retorted, still partially in shock from what her best friend was proposing, "you're talking about wearing diapers! How can that possibly be 'no big deal'?"

"But it is no big deal," Emily insisted, "just think of the diaper like any other piece of clothing. It's only weird if you think of it as being weird. Just think of the diaper like any other pair of panties and you will be fine. And unless you have any better ideas, I think this is our best option. It's not like we have a lot of choices."

Lauren took a deep breath. She had to admit that her friend did have a point; they didn't have a lot of options. They were in desperate need of money, and maybe Emily's idea wasn't as crazy as it seemed at first glance. Still, Lauren couldn't get over the weirdness of the idea. She couldn't see how it could possibly work, but Emily seemed adamant. Maybe, and it was a big 'maybe,' Emily's plan could succeed.

It had all started a couple years back. Lauren and Emily were fresh out of high school and had no idea what to do with their lives. As two of the prettiest girls in their school, they had been part of the popular crowd, and they hadn't really given too much thought as to what they would do once they graduated. As a result, they hadn't been too focused on college, and their grades were nothing great as a consequence. When they finally got around to applying to colleges, their grades were too poor, and no schools accepted them. Still, they didn't worry too much about their future, confident that something good would happen after graduation and the two would stay friends for life.

After graduation, the two girls spent the summer road tripping across the country, living off their parents' money and generally just bumming around. After the summer, the girls returned home, each living with their respective parents, sleeping in every day, wasting most of their time, and not looking for jobs or trying to reapply for the colleges that had rejected them. After a few months, Lauren's parents had given her an ultimatum - either get a job, go to college, or get kicked out of the house. Her parents had spoiled her for her entire life, so the sudden dose of reality was like a smack in the face. Lauren knew she wasn't ready for a regular job. She knew that waiting tables, working retail, or other 'menial' jobs were beneath her - she was far too pretty and popular for that.

She went to Emily's house that night and confided in her best friend about what her parents had told her, moaning about how unfair her life was and about how stuid her parents were for refusing to support her. Why couldn't they just keep giving her money and let her live in the house? It was so dumb! Emily had felt the same way. Her parents had been pressuring her more and more to get a job and move out. Her parents were just as unfair as Lauren's!

That's when Emily had had her big idea. "Let's just move," she had said, "your parents are being dumb. My parents are being dumb. Why shouldn't we just move? We can be roommates in a new city! It'll be fun and we won't have to deal with our stupid parents." Lauren had been a bit more hesitant. "I don't know," she had said, "we don't really have much money. Where would we even go? What would we do for jobs? Maybe it would be easier to just stay here."

Emily was silent for a few minutes, clearly deep in thought. Finally, an idea came to her. "I know," she exclaimed, "let's move to Los Angeles and be models!" Lauren had immediately burst out laughing. "You're crazy," she said, "we don't have enough money to move across the country. And what makes you think we can be models?" Emily smiled as she became more sure of herself. "Think about it," she had insisted, "we've always been the hottest girls in school. We could easily become models. Maybe not supermodels, but we are at least pretty enough to make a living. L.A. is full of modeling agencies. We could even be actresses! Why shouldn't we be? I'm hot. You're hot. Let's do it!"
