Pilot

N.B: This series will have spoilers of The Vampire Diaries, so I'm warning you guys beforehand, read at your own risk and don't complain to me that you're far behind on the series.

Chapter 1:

"...that was completely ridiculous! I mean, how can she just erase the memories of her love for Damon just like that? Didn't he mean anything to her? I want to hate her, I really do, but...Damon loves her, so I can't!"

"You done?" Kitty, my best friend, looked at me exasperated.

"Yes", I said in a small voice, still upset about Elena's decision to erase all her memories of Damon.

"Good, because my ears are bleeding," she said and looked back out the window of the bus again.

"Hey, don't be mean!" I pouted at her when she turned to glare at me, but then I saw her lips twitch.

"You know that this was the 16th time you ranted this to me after the premier of the second episode, yesterday," she said matter of factly.

"I know! I know, but I can't help it! I just love Damon a little too much!" I whined, pushing my blonde hair out of my face as the wind coming in from the open window blew it every possible direction.

I looked at my best friend Kitty, Katherine Williams, with envy. She had really glossy coffee coloured skin and wavy black hair that reached her shoulders. Her eyes were a dark brown and she had a pretty heart shaped face,but an athletic built. She's a runner and basketball player and pretty good at both, but her main aim is to be a fashion designer. Weird combination, I know, but that's who Kitty is and I love her all the same. In many ways she reminded me of Bonnie Bennett from TVD, but I dare not tell her that or the cops will have to dig me out from a 100ft hole underground.

"How's the science project going on?" She asked me, obviously eager to change the topic.

"I won't know until we've seen the new lab. Everything depends on the facilities and the specimen available. I wonder who'll be the live?" I mused.

Caught off guard were you? Now you'll be thinking that why would a blonde barbie with an unhealthy addiction to Damon Salvatore be talking about science and specimens? Well FYI, I'm a Bioscience Major and currently I'm working on a formula that'll be able-oops! Top secret. Let's not go there right now, but the main reason I-

"We're here! Thea! Come look!" Kitty's sudden burst of enthusiasm was a shock, but as soon as I looked out the window from beside her, I was stunned too.

Emerald Gem University.

That's where the people of this bus are headed. It's referred to as the most popular university in the world, only for the brightest minds throughout the world regardless of rich or poor, to enhance their abilities and create another protégé that will contribute to not only National but International development. It is a proud moment for us indeed to be chosen by them.

The campus looked huge, with its population of 4000 people, including faculties, it has all sorts of courses and top quality faculty and celebrity trainers. Tution fees are free if they choose you themselves on scholarships, but applicable if you send in your cv. They even have their own dormitory for all the students present. All in all, its a dream come true for every hardworking, talented person out there.

The campus, was indeed huge. Painted in dright red and yellow, it stretched out for about 20 achers of land, the buildings were all seven storied with a helipad on top of two of the central buildings. It was like a giant red flower in full bloom in the midst of miles and miles of greenery. They say it's isolated from population because it'll help produce better educational results if the students didn't divert their minds from studies, but I don't have to worry about not seeing Damon because we're allowed to bring our own laptops and they have a movie theatre and shopping complex within the campus. I can't wait to see the dorms!

Soon, we came across a huge metal gate which were opened by two armed guards and then our bus drove on for another ten minutes before the campus came into full view.

It was even more magnificent from up front with several fountains at the centre and the buildings making a sort of semi-circle around them.

"Oh my God!" Me and Kitty exclaimed at the same time as soon as we got out of the bus had a look at the University grounds.

"Come on, let's get our bags." Kitty dragged me towards the back of the bus where the driver was unloading the luggages for all hundred of us freshers.

Grabbing our luggages, we were directed to the road leading to the dorms. Everyone had their own dormitory. We couldn't wait till we got to see them, this was going to be a sweet, sweet year!

"This is so amazing!" I spread my arms around and spun  in circles a couple times.

"Hey, watch o-"

But before Kitty's warning could register, someone bumped into me at that exact instant, making me loose my balance and topple over. But before I could fall, that same person grabbed my hand roughly and stood me up.

I turned towards the rude SOB who'd bumped into me to give them a piece of my mind, but was met with the bluest eyes I've ever seen.

Black hair that fell across his forehead, sweat glistening skin...whatever was exposed by his black t-shirt and dark blue jeans, and a face that looked like a God of Olympus come to life.

"Watch where you going!" He spat at me and let go of my arm with a jerk.

"Hey Damon! Did you get the ball?" Someone asked from a distance.

"Got it!" Damon, the guy who bumped into me, answered, holding up a cricket ball with his other hand.

"What a jerk!" Kitty came up to me as soon as Damon had walked away to join his friends who were playing cricket in the fields surrounding the campus.

"Kitty..."

"Yes Thea? Are you hurt?" Kitty asked concerned, her hands on my shoulders.

I shook my head and pointed to the guy who just walked away. The guy named Damon.

"I think I just fell in love...."

"What?!"
