"Okay. What did you guys mess up?" I said while walking towards Tony and Scott who were currently chilling in a beat-up car.

"Nothing! "Was Tony's immediate reply. Liar.
"Fess up Stark. What did you do this time?" I asked
"Okay. ...we got a problem." Tony said while getting out of the car. Scott soon followed suit and looked like he was having a panic attack.

"So, what do we do now?" Steve asked with a hint of disappointment in his smooth voice. Wait what?

You know what? Give me a break, Steve. I just got hit in the head with the Hulk." Tony replied, evidently getting annoyed.
"One shot. That's all we had! One shot to get the stones. One shot," Scott repeated.
"Scott, you do know you're repeating yourself, right?" I asked him.

"Yes! Tony-I mean Mr. Stark ruined the Time heist!"
"Oh really? Is that what I did?"
"Yeah!"

"All right ladies settle down. Tony is there really no other option for the tesseract? No other period in time where it's been?" I asked, not really paying any attention to Scott, whose mouth was wide open and was pointedly staring at me.

"No, no, no. There're no other options. There's no do-overs. We're not going anywhere else. We have one particle left. Each. That's it, alright? We use that– Bye, bye. You're not going home. Maybe Y/N can. You can't," Scott ranted.

"Yeah, well if we don't try, a lot of people won't be able to go home either." I said.

"I got it. There's another way. To retake the Tesseract and acquire new particles. We'll stroll down memory lane. Military installation, Garden State."

"What year were they both present in?" Steve asked, his state of mind clearly improving.
"They were there at a– I've a vaguely exact idea..."
"How vague?" I asked.

"What are you talking about? Where are we going?" Scott asked, still utterly confused (though there was nothing new in that)

"I know for a fact they were there– "Tony said, trying to recollect the date
"Who's they? What are we doing?" Scott asked.
"And I know how I know." Tony said

"Guys, what's up? What is it?" Scott asked(again)
"Well, it looks like we're improvising." I replied.
"Right. What are we improvising?" Scott asked, utterly baffled.

"Scott, get this back to the compound." Tony said, handing over the scepter to Scott," And you two love birds, suit up."

"Excuse me?" I asked. Then I realized that Steve and I had literally no distance between us. I could feel the heat rush into my cheeks. Steve also seemed to have a similar reaction.

"What's in New Jersey?" Trust Scott to break the awkward silence.

"0-4," Tony started saying. I started punching in the coordinates.

"0-4– "Steve repeated the coordinates.

"Uhh, 0-7."

"0-7."

"Excuse me..." Scott tried to butt in.

"1-9-7-0." I punched in the final coordinates.

"Are you sure?" Steve asked, apprehension on his face.
