Rayne curled up on her bean bag chair, flipped on the movie, turned off the lights and started eating away and watching the movie. It wasn’t long until she saw Justyn’s light flicker on in his room. Great. She had to refrain from getting up and writing him a note saying she was sorry for flipping the fuck out, but she didn’t. She just sat there, numb. A blank expression on her face, not even enjoying the movie. She didn’t want to think about it at all. How could he not see how madly in love she was with him? She felt warm, salty tears trail down her face again. Yet another sleepless night because of him? Joy. In the morning, her alarm woke her from a dreamless sleep. It was playing some song by T. Mills called Purr Like A Cat. Don’t ask.. She was recently obsessed with him. He was attractive and .. Mmm god. His voice. She looked at the time. 6:30 a.m. She groaned and looked at her window, she couldn’t help it.. Justyn’s blinds AND curtains were shut.. That hurt. A lot.

Rayne got up off the floor, somehow she’d fallen asleep in the beanbag chair, then rolled onto the floor? Oh well, she looked at her reflection and wanted to die. Her face was blotchy and puffy from crying. This was REDICULOUS. He needs to just dump that hoe. She decided on a quick shower. Letting the hot water run over her body and get rid of all the bad for moments was amazing. She felt like she didn’t have to pretend for a few minutes. Nothing else matter in those few minutes. Then reality struck again.

“Rayne! You’re going to be late for school!” her drunken, whorish mother called. She always had a man around when her father was away on business, but right when she heard word of his return she’d sober up and be normal again. Sad part is ,her father doesn’t know about any of it. Rayne’s tried telling him before but he just smacks her and tells her to never talk about her mother like that again. A little part of her wants to believe that he does realize it, but acts like everything’s peachy. Sometimes..she wants to say things she knows will hurt him like her mother hurts her every time she walks through that door drunk. But her mother had to care a little bit if she was calling Rayne to hurry up and get ready.. Right?

“Thanks mom, I saw the time! I’ll get a ride. Don’t worry.” Rayne yelled down as she wrapped up in a towel and blow dried her hair. Time for a fun filled day of learning! Yay… Rayne tried her best to cover up some of the puffiness and blotchiness with makeup. She even straightened her long, jet black hair so her bangs would be in her face and she wore an old hoodie that was too big for her and yoga pants. Fuck Mondays. She threw on some converse and grabbed her bag before picking up her phone. She had three missed calls and five text messages, but none of them mattered. He didn’t want to see her in person, but he wanted to communicate by other means. Hmm.. Yeeaaahhh,no. Then it dawned on her.. Justyn was her usual ride to school.. Fuck. Now what was she supposed to do?! It’s like, 43 degrees outside and raining. She sighed and pulled her hood up, then stepped out in to the cold. She shivered and hugged her arms to her body as she prepared for the long 10 blocks to school.

Behind her she heard a familiar rattle of a pickup truck. She didn’t dare look. The rattling continued, not stopping or slowing, just drove right past her. As she glanced to the side, she saw Justyn and some girl. Awesome. That just ruined her whole fucking day. As if last night didn’t hurt enough..

By the time Rayne arrived at school she was fifteen minutes late to her Physical Education class. That sucked. Especially on a Monday. Mr. Plains would probably have her do extra push ups or run in front of the boys. She pushed her hood off her head as she walked into the office. She didn’t notive the boy sitting off to the side as she walked up the the pad of paper and signed herself in.

“Sorry I’m Late Nancy. You know how it is.” Rayne smiled softly. The lady behind the desk nodded and shook her head laughing.

“Oh! While you’re here. We have a new student. His name is Taylor. Uhm, Young. “ Nancy asked, “I’d take him around but..i’m far too busy. It’ll get you out of classes!” she encouraged.

Rayne sighed in defeat, “Alright. You know me too well. Where is he?” she asked. She pushed her hair away from her eyes with a hand and stopped mid push-back, finally catching an extremely amazing looking guy standing beside her.

“I’m..Taylor.” He said softly. Rayne was in shock. Never, in a million years had Trybecka Prep gotten a new HOT student. Of the GUY variety. She hesitated slightly, and then blinked a few times.

“Uhm, Right.. I’m Rayne.” She smiled.

He nodded and swept his long, deep brown hair over one of his eyes. She was lost, just looking at him. He towered over her standing about 6’4 and he was skinny, but in a perfect way. He was the ultimate Emo boy. Eyeliner, converse, skinny jeans… He had it all.

Rayne bit her lip and blinked a few times, “You alright Rayne? I was just asking you if you’d take him around the whole school but you weren’t answering me.” Nancy said.

“Oh! Yeah..not a problem!: she answered quickly, her face turning a bright pink color. Damn. She needed to control herself.
