Part 1: Coachella

Cameron's pov:

"Cameron! You're on in 15! Hurry up!" I heard my bestfriend Addison yell at me from the bathroom. Currently we were in my green room backstage at Coachella. This was a dream come true and I honestly couldn't wait till I went on stage. Of course I'm extremely nervous, I'm performing in front of like a million people. But, at the same time I'm really excited.

"Cammm!" Louie, my other bestfriend, whined at me. "Yes?" I replied back. "Are you deaf? You need to get your ass up and head down to the stage, like right now!" he yelled even though he was right infront of me. Even though my bestfriends seem very annoying, which they are, they're only trying to support me and I love them for that. "Alright, alright, if it means you'll shut up then I'll hurry up" I groan.

"I thought you were looking forward to this" Louie said while giving me a confused look. "I am, it's just, things have been tough these past few weeks, you know? I'm just- trying to get through it" I said standing up from the leather couch I threw myself onto a few hours ago. "Hey, everything's gonna be okay, it's just gonna take some time but I promise you'll be fine" Louie smiled sympathetically. "I know, now, you go to the pit and find yourself a man" I teased. "Who needs a man?" Addison asked nosily as she dashed out of the bathroom. "Both of you" I laughed walking out of the green room as they both followed behind me.

"Um excuse me, I'll find myself a man in no time but you need to find yourself a women" she said boldly. I laughed at her cockiness. "Yeah, what about Ariana? You literally drool when someone mentions her name, even more when you're around her" Louie adds unnecessarily. "Okay firstly, I don't drool and secondly she's my bestfriend, I don't like her like that" I say but they don't look too convinced. "Oh come on, everyone drools" Louie quickly said waving his arms. Addison gave a look at Louie and mouthed 'shut the fuck up'. "Yeah, yeah whatever you say" Addison giggles as we continue to walk.

"Oh my god, it's so hot. I never thought I'd say this but I wish I was in London" Louie said fanning himself. "Louie, we walked for about 2 minutes" "So? It's hot as fuck!" he yelled wiping the sweat off his forehead. "Anddd it's cold as fuck in London, you'd rather be here bro" I laughed. "Alright, we're here" Addison said turning around to face me. "Yes we are" I smiled looking at the stage. "You're gonna kill it" She encouraged as she came in for a hug. "Yeah, forget about me" Louie said wiping a fake tear. "Shut up bro, you know we love you" I said pulling him in for a group hug. As we pulled away, a crew member came and told me I'm on in 5, which caused my anxiety to fly up into the sky. Addison and Louie left to go to get a space in vip so I was left alone standing backstage trying to calm my nerves.

"Cameron?" I heard a sweet familiar voice call for me. I looked up and saw Ariana smiling at me. "Oh hey Ari" I smiled pulling her in for a tight hug. "I haven't seen you all day, where were you?" she asked curiously as we pulled away from the hug. "I was just chilling in my green room getting ready to perform I guess" I chuckled looking up to the stage and back down to look at her. She giggled causing butterflies to explode in my stomach. Damn, I'm really falling in deep. "Thought so, you never go out anymore" She said meeting my eyes. "Yeah, I guess I don't-" I was interrupted when someone on the crew told me it's time. "Good luck Cam, even though you don't need it" Ariana said excitement evident in her voice. "Thanks" I breathed out. "You're gonna do fine, I'll be in the audience watching you" She said giving me a final hug, and after that she was gone.

I ran up on stage and as soon as the crowd saw me, they went wild.

It was time to perform the song I was dreading most, but I had to do it for him. I picked up the microphone and cleared my throat gaining the crowds attention. "Um, so for my final song, I wanted to perform something that means a lot to me. Some of you know that um-" I paused and took a deep breath and continued. "-That my brother passed away a few weeks ago" I paused again. I looked into the crowd and saw Ariana staring back at me, once we locked eyes, she smiled and nodded meaning everything will be fine. "So I wrote a song about him called 'i love you', and for the final song I just wanna relax and sing along with you guys" I said gaining my confidence. The crowd cheered which encouraged me to carry on. I turned around and picked up my guitar from back stage.

I began playing the guitar and I took in another deep breath knowing this wasn't going to be easy.

As I was singing, I locked eye contact with Ariana and noticed she was singing along and had tears in her eyes along with me. She smiled at me which I gladly returned.
