a/n: i changed a few things, cameron moved to florida when she was young so her and ariana grew up together.

Cameron's pov:

It's been a few days since I was.. rescued. Everything felt so different. My fans were worried and I assured them I was fine because I didn't want to give them another thing to worry about. Paps were on my ass as usual but it's been worse these past few days. I couldn't go anywhere without one of them yelling "What happened?" or something stupid like "Why'd you fake your kidnapping?". The news spread pretty fast and I'm still unsure about how it got out to the public in the first place. I guess the press can find out anything.

Currently, me and Ariana are driving back from the station where they asked me questions about what had happened. Ariana wasn't allowed to be in the room, so she still has no idea what happened to me. Neither do Louie and Addi, I rather keep it like that for a few more days. I don't want people worrying about me for no reason.

"What you thinking about?" Ariana asked breaking the silence. "Nothing" I said looking at her. She looked back at me and raised her eyebrows not believing what I said. I sighed, "Its just .. really overwhelming, ya know?" She looked at me with sympathy. "Don't do that, Ariana" I mumbled turning away to look out the window. I don't want people feeling sorry for me, it makes me feel worse. "Don't do what?" she asks. "Don't give me that look.." I reply quietly. She furrows her eyebrows, "What am I meant to do Cam? Smile?" "No, but you doing that and talking to me as if I'm gonna break any second makes me feel worse" I murmur as I sit up more comfortably on the seat before I continue. "People are treating me like I'm made out of glass and I just want them to treat me how they normally would"

When we came to a red light, she turned to me and looked into my eyes. "They don't want to accidentally hurt you, they're trying to help but they don't know how" She began. "After what happened at Manchester, people did that to me too. Yeah it was a little annoying, but I understood that they were only trying to help" she paused. "Even though I don't know what happened exactly, I know it was bad. So jumping back to what your life was like before wouldn't be a great idea, it'll be very hard. You just need time" she comforted and held my hands.

I didn't know what to say, of course she gets me speachless every damn time. She just chuckled and I smiled. "We going back to the hotel? We gotta pack" I said as she began driving again. "We could... or we could get starbucks and spend some time with eachother?" she said making it sound like a question. "I'd like that" I chuckled.

After we got our drinks, we got back into her car. "Where we going now?" I asked putting on my seat belt. "You'll see" She smiled and also put on her seatbelt. "I thought your dumbass was vegan, you drinking milk" I said to Ariana. "Nah, not anymore. My doctor said it's not good for my health" she pouted. "Finally, I don't know how you survived without chicken" I said. "Well, I actually have a heart that cares for animals unlike you" She said as she poked my arm. "I mean it's sad that they die, but chicken tastes good so I can't not eat it" I proudly say and she laughs. "What if you were that chicken?" She asks. I thought about it. The thought of me being killed to be then eaten by a human was gross. "You kinda right.." I admitted and sat back on the seat. She just chuckled and pulled into an empty parking lot. "What we doing here? It's dark and cold" I asked putting my hands in my pocket. "C'mon, get your drink" she said and ignored my question. I groaned and got out of the car.

She began talking but I couldn't focus on what she was saying. I was too busy looking at her, she had her glasses on and had her signature ponytail. She was wearing an oversized hoodie with some grey gym pants.

"Hello? You gonna keep ignoring me?" She asked. "Oh, no sorry" I chuckled. "Well, we're here.." She said pointing forward. I looked up and saw a kids playground. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. "A kids playground?" I asked making sure we were looking at the same thing. "Yup!" She proudly said. "It's dark and we're alone, we're gonna die" I said in an obvious tone. "Oh hush, you're always complaining about something" She said and grabbed my arms pulling me to the playground. I was still unsure about this. "And it's not dark, see, theres a light" she said pointing at the full moon. I smiled and shook my head. This girl is insane, she always has been.

After a bit of messing around and acting like 5 year olds, we sat down in silence on a nearby bench with Arianas head on my shoulder as we both stared at the stars. "Everythings changed" Ariana said breaking the silence. "What do you mean?" I asked looking down at her. "Like all the fame and shit, it used to just be us" She smiled. "It's still us Ari, you can't run from me" I laughed. I heard her chuckle, she slowly grabbed my hand and interwined our fingers together which made me smile. She got up from my shoulder and sighed. "Hey, what's wrong?" I asked getting slightly concerned. She looked into my eyes and slowly shook her head, then looked back down to our hands. "I just.. really missed you" she quietly said. I put my hand on her chin and pulled it up so she was facing me. "Trust me, I missed you more" I smiled and she returned one. We both stared into eachothers eyes before we both slowly began leaning in. I closed my eyes and felt her soft plump lips attach to mine. Just like last time, I felt butterflies in my stomach. Without breaking the kiss, she wrapped her arms around my neck and pulled herself closer to me. Once air became a problem, we both pulled away and smiled at eachother.

"We should go, it's nearly 1am" Ariana said smiling at me. "Yeah, I'm surprised we didn't die" I chuckled as we both walked back to her car while holding hands.
