they're like 16 in this one & Richie's feeling a lil insecure but Eddie always knows what to say to make him feel better. enjoy!!

Eddie hoisted himself up and slipped through the window, trying his best to focus despite the blaring television.

"Finally!" Richie exclaimed from his bed across the room. "I thought you'd never come," he added, scooting over. There was a genuine undertone in Richie's comment that worried Eddie.

Eddie just smiled and tried to ignore it. "Of course i came, chee. I wouldn't just skip out and not tell you." He kicked off his shoes and crawled onto Richie's bed, hugging his waist and nuzzling into his neck.
Richie just sighed with a smile, kissing the freckled boy's temple and letting his arms slip around him.
They laid in comfortable silence for a few moments, simply enjoying each other's company and listening to the tv.
"You don't.. have to come. Like, if you didn't want to. You could skip."

"Richie-"

"No, I'm serious. Just saying. If you ever don't want to," He paused, seeing Eddie's frown, "I don't.. I don't want you to feel like you don't have any choices.."
The freckled boy cocked an eyebrow, and to get a better look at his crush, moved his head to Richie's pillow instead. "It sounds more like you don't want me to come, Trashmouth." The statement hung in the air, sounding more like a question than Eddie meant it to.

"No, no- that's not what I'm saying- I mean like, if you didn't want to come but I invited you, you can- should, like.. do what you actually want.. ykNow..?? You don't have to like.. pity me or something.."

Eddie rolled his eyes, playfully exasperated. "Well, you don't have to worry then. I love visiting you, Richie. That's why I do it. I wouldn't come by if I hated it."

"But you might feel bad or like-"

"Shh." Eddie put a hand over Richie's mouth. "I don't feel bad. I like you. You know that."

"Kinky."

It was muffled, but there was no doubt about what the dark-haired Trashmouth had muttered.

"Oh, shut it!" Eddie laughed, now using both hands to cover Richie's mouth. Richie stuck his tongue out, barely touching Eddie's hand, who nearly shrieked and yanked his hands away. Richie just laughed, holding onto the shorter germaphobe's waist.

"EW! That's so not funny!! You're gonna give me, like, mono or something!" Eddie shrieked, spitting out the first disease he could think of. He kicked at Richie, who only grinned.

"Oh, trust me Eds, if I had mono, you'd have it by now," Richie remarked, leaning in to kiss Eddie, who playfully pushed his face away, furrowing his eyebrows.
"I hope you don't kiss your mother with that mouth, Rich." Eddie wiggled out of Richie's grasp and sat up. The taller boy made grabby-hands for him to lay back down, but Eddie just looked away, a smile tugging at his lips.
"And don't call me that."

"Nah. But I do kiss yours."

Eddie scoffed, shaking his head. "You're crazy, Tozier."

"Mm", Richie just murmured, sitting up and leaning in again. His unofficial boyfriend hesitated for a second, before slipping his glasses off his face.
Eddie finally kissed him back, his glasses-holding-hand over Richie's shoulder and the other sorting through his curls.
Richie smiled a little too hard, breaking their kiss. They laughed breathlessly anyway, pressing their foreheads together, Eddie's arms over Richie's shoulders and Richie's resting on Eddie's waist.

"I like you," Richie whispered after a while.

"I know."

"Asshole- I just confessed my undying-"

Eddie giggled, unfolding Richie's glasses. "I know, you've told me before. I like you, too. Like a lot." He slipped them on his own face, magnifying his eyes. "Woah- how do I look?" He asked, pushing them up his nose.

"I have no idea," Richie answered honestly, squinting at the other boy, to which Eddie laughed.

I love you, he thought. And he thought he might have the courage to say it, but then Eddie looked back up at him and the moment passed.

"Are you watching.. Little House on the Prairie?"

"Okay, yes, and the dog just got lost, Eds, have some respect. It was a very dramatic moment."

The freckled germaphobe pushed Richie's glasses back onto the latter's face. Eddie became clear again and Richie was immediately thankful.

"You wanna play Uno, chee? I brought a deck."

"Hell yeah, I'm about to dust your ass."

"Oh, sure." Eddie rolled his eyes, pulling his deck of uno cards out of his back pocket. He scooted towards the end of Richie's bed to give them playing space.

As Eddie dealt the cards, Richie found it hard to focus. All he wanted to do was watch Eddie's eyebrows knit together and his eyes lock on the task at hand.

He sighed, content with his life at that moment.
Eddie was there.
Everything would be okay.
