It's been a while since the last time I wrote a log here. Can't say I didn't miss writing one. I'd be honest, I sort of forgot how I used to write logs before, but oh well. ^^"
These past two days, I spent it reading the published chapters of ᴘᴀɴᴅᴇᴍᴏɴɪᴜᴍ and the drafts in my notes, trying to remember the ideas I had for my character. Shockingly, I really did forgot a lot. My memory is deteriorating, lmao.
Reading it made me realize that I still had a few typographical and grammatical errors, I'm sorry. Normally, I would immediately correct them but in that instance, I felt lazy.
Now, back to why this log was created. Along the way of remembering my ideas, I noticed that Kyoko and Ren's relationship seemed to progress way too fast! XD
At their first meeting, they already broke the touch barrier which is definitely not normal. I even considered removing some, but no.
I analyzed the entire situation, considering both characters' personality in the story. I think it was not made obvious yet in the story, but Kyoko loves physical affection.
The case doesn't seem to be similar with Ren in the canon. However, from their past, there's a detail that can support his actions.
Undoubtedly, both characters felt secure and comfortable with each other.
However, having a great beginning doesn't mean that it will be consistent until the end. Of course, there will be some obstacles and rocks that might endanger their relationship.
I won't be giving much detail, but I'll be giving the gist.
Kyoko is the type of person -as seen in the story- that hates the thought of being saved or endangering the safety of those close to her because of her actions. She started her life depending on others but once she was able to protect herself, she wanted to act independently. She wants to be the one to be responsible for her own actions.
So, seeing others suffer because of her mistakes would be something she doesn't want to see the most.
On the other hand, Ren is the perfect leader-type. At times of danger, he, instinctively, protects his teammates and places their safety before his.
Comparing the two's personality in battle, both prioritizes to protect others. But what if, one of them are the one in danger?
If it was Ren that was in danger and Kyoko protects him, it wouldn't seem like a big issue. But Ren is a man, so there's a possibility that his pride would hurt when a lady protects him, and might even see himself weak. Somewhat, it is not an issue in this situation.
However, if Ren protects Kyoko, it shouldn't be an issue, right? No. Kyoko, as mentioned before, wants to be independent and doesn't want to rely on others.
These factors resulted to some big arguments, I must say.
And that's it! I need to stop before I spill even more beans. Oh, and before I sign off, let me remind you all about smth- people can change. ;)
xoxo,
Eth.
