Checking Surroundings and Practicing Skills

You should check your surroundings and try out cat skills- a foundation was needed, you decided. First, you looked around.

As you noticed earlier, there were pine trees surrounding you. A bunch of large rocks were to your left. If you needed to hide, perhaps you could go behind them... There wasn't much else that you could see- the trees were thin, but there were many of them.

You tried cast your new senses out, to try to notice something. Past the rocks, you heard a rushing sound. Water? It didn't sound that far away, but you couldn't tell. As for smells... There were so many paths seeming to cross. You couldn't tell.

Pine trees must mean ShadowClan, right? Their territory didn't seem like the best place to practice, but you pushed that thought away, knowing you would need skills to survive no matter where you were.

What skill should you practice first? Probably hunting- you would need food sooner or later. You crouched down, trying to remember how apprentices were taught. Hunting in piney areas wasn't covered much, so you made do with what you remembered about ThunderClan's hunting strategies.

Keep low... Make sure your tail doesn't brush the ground, and that it doesn't stick up. Set your paws down silently... It was easier said than done though.

"This way. I hear something," a she cat's voice disrupted your thoughts. Oh no. Since this was possibly ShadowClan's territory... And you were trying to learn to hunt... They would probably attack. It was ShadowClan, after all.

Their voices didn't sound far enough, and you could hear rustling. You had about a minute to decide what to do.

What will you do?
