Chapter 2 Reunited

I will be going between Justin's and Carter's POVs in this chapter so watch out for those!

Justin's POV

Moshe and I are in the car on our way to the venue. It's 9 o'clock on Friday morning an we have to go look at the stage or whatever we are supposed to do. I don't know scooter and Kenny usually did all this stuff.

"Scooter told me this morning that him and Kenny picked up some people from Stratford and are bringing them today." Moshe says breaking the silence.

"What are they just gonna bring some hobos to my concert tonight?"

"No. They are bringing Ryan and Chaz to your concert."

"Ryan and Chaz are coming tonight?!" I haven't seen them in months! They are my best friends I wonder if they still keep in touch with Carter...

"We're here." Moshe says breaking me out of my thoughts.

We walk in to the venue and immediately ms. Jamison comes up to us looking a little guilty.

"Oh my goodness! You guys are here. Look I'm so sorry but the crew hasn't finished setting up the stage and everything yet. So you really don't need to be here."

"Well how long will it take?" Moshe asks.

"Who knows with these guys? I'm about ready to fire them. I'm so sorry about this guys."

"Don't worry about it. We have nothing else to do before picking scooter up at the airport at 12." I said trying to make her feel better. It's not her fault her crew is crap.

"Oh Moshe one of the security guards wanted to talk to you about something he's over by the front of the stage." Ms. Jamison says to Moshe.

"Okay." And with that Moshe walks away to talk to the security guard.

And it's just me and ms. Jamison. It's perfect timing to find out when I can see carter.

"So, Ms. Jamison." I start but quickly get cut off by her.

"Oh Justin, sweetie. Call me Jessica. I've only known you since you were in diapers!"

"Okay. So, Jessica. How's carter?"

"Carter's good. You know still carter. Straight A's, star hockey player, same old same old." She says smiling.

"That's good. Um I'm just going to come out and say it. Is there any way I could see carter again?" I said in a rush.

"Well, she's in school right now."

"Oh. I see."

"But, I could call the school and you could get her out early. And you know catch up."

"Really?! You'd do that? Would they let me?"

"Well they will if I call and say its a family emergency and that neither me nor her dad can pick her up so you have to."

"Have you already thought of this?" I ask her. It really is a good plan. And you don't come up with it right on the spot right there.

"Maybe." She said pulling out her phone dialing what I guess is the schools number. "Hello I'm the mother of Carter Jamison and I need to take Her out of school for the rest of the day. It's a family emergency. Okay. Neither me nor her father can pick her up so a family friend will be there soon. Yes. Okay thank you."

She hangs up the phone. "It's all set."

"Thank you so much Jessica."

"No problem."

"What'd I miss?" Moshe asked completely clueless to what just happened.

"We are going to pick up carter from school right now." I answered very excited.

"Why?" Moshe asks slowly.

"So me and her can catch up today duh!" I answer like its the most obvious thing in the world. "What about mr. Jamison?" I asked turning to Jessica.

"Oh you let me worry about Tom. Now go. She will be waiting in the front office."

"Thank you!" I said while walking toward the door behind Moshe.

When we get in the car Moshe looks at me with this weird look on his face.

"What?" I ask.

"You do miss her." He said smiling smugly.

"Shut up." I mumble. And here we go. On our way to Carter's school.

****Carters POV****

A FAMILY EMERGENCY?!?!

What the hell is going on?!

So many possibilities are running through my mind right now.

Did my dad die?! Did my mom die?! Is someone in the hospital?!

I'm running down the hall towards the front office and I finally get there.

"Carter Jamison. I got called down here because of a family emergency." I said out if breath. Man I'm really out of shape.

"Yes. Miss Jamison take a seat your ride should be here soon."

"Is my dad picking me up?"

"No. Your mother said that neither her nor your dad could come and pick you up so a family friend is picking you up."

A family friend?! I barley have any family here let alone family friends!

I was too busy sitting in the chair bouncing my leg and looking at my hands nervously to notice someone come in the office.

Then I heard his voice.

"I'm here to pick up carter Jamison." My head shot up and the sound of my name.

"Um, your the family friend?" Asks the secretary very skeptically.

"Justin?! What are you doing here? Is everything okay?!" I ask frantically.

"Carter, calm down. I will explain everything in the car. C'mon." He said calmly taking my hand and leading me outside.

"Okay Justin we are outside tell me what the hell is going on!!"

"Carter just get in the car. I'll tell you then."

"I'll get in the car when you tell me the emergency."

"Carter there is no emergency. Your mom just said that so I could pick you up from school early."

"Wha- what?! You guys had me worried sick!!" I can't believe they made that up just so he could pick me up early. Why did he pick me up early. "Why did you pick me up early?"

"Carter you ask so many questions. Please get in the car and I will give you all the answers." I haven't talked to him in 4 years! And he just shows up here. I should be mad. But I'm not. I'm happy. I missed him so much.

"Okay." And with that we get in the car.

I'm uploading twice in 2 days. It's the weekend and I don't have homework so I thought I might as well get the story started. But next week I have school Monday and Tuesday and fall break on Thursday and Friday and Wednesday I'm going to Justin's concert (Woohoo!) so I wouldn't expect another update till maybe Thursday. Or Wednesday if I get bored on the drive to the concert. I might update tomorrow but I wouldn't count on it.
