✨I'm lookin' in your eyes, I'm ready to be hurt again✨

Ashton POV:

It was her 15th birthday today. Her birthday was one day, she could let go of all her troubles and be happy for once. And I couldn't be there for her on this special day.

I saw her today. She looked stunning in this crimson-colored wrap dress with white daisies on them. She loved daisies, they were her favorite flowers. She said they reminded her of someone she loved very much, someone who had gone away now. But she had never told me who it was.

Before I could go wish her, I saw Drew walking up to her. How dare he try and speak to her after he did? He clasped his hands together and apologized for what happened. She turned away but he placed his arm on hers, to make her turn around. Drew rambled on while she kept rolling her eyes and shaking her head in disbelief.

Drew murmured something, something too quiet for me to hear. Soon her face morphed into a soft expression. She gave him a small smile that he returned.

They both stood at the locker, talking for a while. At one point, I could tell they were talking about me, by the fact that she kept turning around to glance over at me.

He leaned in even closer, making the distance between them non-existent.

She looked back at me for a second, before going back to her conversation with that sneaky bastard. He gave her that perfect smile and I could tell that he was trying to win her back and it was working.

But they couldn't get together. It couldn't happen. It wouldn't happen. I couldn't bear the thought of her being with anyone, other than me.

I walked away before I could go and punch that bastard and tell him to get away from my girl.

--

She had given the invites for her party weeks ago. She had been so excited because her father wouldn't be home on her birthday. I remember her planning out every little detail, the guest list, the decorations, the food.

She had told me there was going to be alcohol.

"It's a party with a bunch of teenagers, they won't even come if there isn't booze." she had said with a chuckle.

"But you don't drink" I had stated.

She never drank. She was too afraid that drinking would make her one step closer, to becoming like her father. But of course, that was before everything with Drew. Before, he hurt my girl's heart and caused her so much pain that she gave up all her beliefs and drank her sorrows away.

--

I wasn't sure if I should go to the party. On one hand, I hated her spending so much time with Drew. I wanted to spend all the time in the world with her. But, her father had been the last straw in the breaking apart of my home, my family.

Lost in my thoughts when Mads came up to me and said, " You have to be there for her today. She needs you."

"Well, her message was pretty clear when she told me to get the fuck out of her house" I replied.

Then why did you pick her up from that table? Why did you take care of her and drop her home?" Because you care about her." Mads said.

"I was being a decent person. I was doing what anybody in my position would have done." I replied.
