Mutual Friends //Bucky

     Tonight was your friend Steve's big day. He was to be enlisted in the military the next morning and was throwing a celebratory party at some fancy restaurant as a way for some of his old and new friends to meet so that they'd have someone when he was gone. Much like Steve most of his friends didn't really have anybody or had lost somebody so he brought you all together as a family of your own. He was the glue that kept everyone together and he was the reason you so felt wanted. The thought that he put into this dinner was very cute, Steve was very cute but in like a new born puppy kind of way. You didn't know everybody though since you and Steve had recently become friends a couple months ago in a support group for people who've lost someone. You and Steve both lost your parents so you clicked quite well quite fast and tonight was the perfect night to meet some of his other friends.

      You spent four hours looking for the perfect outfit you wanted to make a good impression on the others so you had to look your very best. You put on your long silky red dress with a slit that went all the way up your right leg stopping midway on your thigh. After that you curled your hair into soft elegant beach curls and threw on your heels. You then proceeded to put on red lipstick just as a bold and confident look, and you were ready to head out.

    "Y/n!" Steve yelled as he pulled you into a big hug. He then stopped hugging you to look you up and down.
"Ew, Steve don't do that.. what?"  You exclaimed forgetting that you literally went all out and dressed up for this event and that Steve has actually never seen you like this.
"You look... you look like a girl" he joked and you laughed hitting him playfully.
"Hahaha and you always look like one" you joked about and everyone started laughing.
"I won't tomorrow but that's besides the point y/n meet John, Craig and Tyler, you guys meet y/n" he introduced you to the few people you didn't know and you mingled. Your night so far has been filled with compliments and shock since you rarely or never dressed up, you were flattered. But no one made you feel as beautiful as the man with the icy blue eyes who'd just walked into the room starring at you from a distance. You noticed that he had been talking to Steve since he got there so you thought you'd go introduce yourself.
"Steven aren't you going to introduce me to this gentleman?" You budded in their conversation.
"Sorry cupcake" Steve smirked because he knew you hated being called cupcake in front of people just like he hated being called Steven.
"This is Bucky, my best friend I may have mentioned him a few times, y/n, Bucky, Buck, y/n" he introduced you and you smiled a small cute smile. Then gentleman stood up, took your hand and planted a gentle kiss on it and said
"I'm James".
Steve sighed,  rolled his eyes and playfully yelled
"I literally just said that c'mon Buck you've gotta come up with better stuff than that" you smiled and reintroduced yourself.
"I'm y/n it's nice to meet you" you smiled.
"You look beautiful, so what are you doing hanging out with Steve?" He joked and you chuckled.
"Oh well that's not fair you two are just being plain mean" Steve fake sighed.
"What's your favorite food?" You asked Bucky and he looked shocked.
"Am I being too forward? Sorry I do that sometim—" you were cut off.
"Chinese food" he looked down at you not even blinking.
"Good well we should indulge in some Chinese food sometime" you said to him starring back directly into his eyes. You were being really bold tonight, it could've just been the alcohol or something about him that made you feel fearless but you were really going for it. He looked back at Steve and said
"I like her, but yeah we should here I'll write down my number on a napkin" he pulled a pen out of his military uniform and you asked him about his deployment.
"I'm currently not deployed so I made it home just in time to see my buddy off, the moment I get back he leaves I'm starting to think he no longer likes me" Bucky joked and you laughed. He was a funny guy you could see this getting somewhere you just hoped it wasn't weird for Steve. You, Steve, and Bucky hung out he entire night drinking and laughing but you didn't get too drunk.  When the function was over you had to speak to Steve and get his perspective on things.
"Steve can I talk to you?" You asked before he headed toward the door.
"Yeah sure what's up?" He said looking at you.
"Was it weird for me to ask out Bucky? I know we're both like your family and I don't wanna cross boundaries or anything" you asked looking at him hoping he'd say that it's fine.
"No boundaries crossed, I seen a look in Bucky's eyes today that I've never saw before; he looked at you the way he's never looked at a woman so I'd say that, that's worth giving a try." He winked at you and walked off. You put your head down and smiled slightly to yourself and began to walk out of the door. Just as you made it outside you bumped into someone. "Sorry" you said quickly breaking the smile and looking up.
"Imagining our date's already got you smiling doll?" Bucky said with a smirk as he walked along side you.
"Something like that" you smiled and looked up.
"Well can I walk you home?" He asked looking down at you with a major height difference, it was so cute.
"I'm not some damsel in destress I'll be fine." You joked hoping he was persistent about his offer.
"No really you can't live too far from here right? I'll walk you it's getting late and it's not exactly safe for a beautiful girl to be walking down the streets of New York In a bright red dress all by herself" he smiled and kept walking. You smiled and accepted his offer.

    'I should've brought a jacket' was all that kept replaying in your head until you felt a warm jacket wrap around your shoulders.
"You must be cold" he said noticing how you had your arms wrapped around each other to provide warmth.
"Thank you, but won't you get cold?" You asked looking up at him.
"I've been in much colder places this is nothing besides I don't mind sharing my jacket with a beautiful lady like yourself." He smiles and you got lost in his eyes smiling back and nodding. As the walk progressed you spent every step talking and getting to know each other . You spilled so much you wondered what you two would have to talk about on the date, but you didn't mind if you two would just meet up with each other and just stare at one another. There was definitely chemistry and by the time you reached your home you knew it for sure.
"Well this is my home, thank you so much for walking me here, you are a true gentleman" you told him while fake curtseying and smiling.  He chuckled and starred deeply into your eyes and said
"You are truly welcome, Milady" and took a fake bow causing you to laugh. You starred back deep into each other's eyes and the two of you awaited the next word but nothing came out of neither of your mouths. Then breaking the stare Bucky leans down placing a gentle kiss on your forehead
"have a goodnight darling" He said while still looking you in the eyes.
"You too Buck" you said stepping on your tippy toes to place a red kiss on his cheek.
