It's You //Steve Rodgers

You and Steve were put on a mission together and it was your first mission together since you two had broke up. You were engaged to another person and still your feelings for Steve were unclear. He was single and the engagement seemed not to bother him. The two of you were still okay around each other. Fury sent us out on tonight of all nights are you serious? Was all you could think to yourself as the rain storm got worst.
"Okay, I'll go in through the north exit and get as many people off the bus as I can while you go around the back and help some people off before this thing blows" Cap instructed to you and you followed his instructions. Just as the last person was off of the bus you all were walking back towards the hospital where the burning bus was in front of a woman screamed.
"Ava! Avaaa! Where's Ava? Has anyone seen my daughter? She has light brown hair and she has on sparkling pink shoes!" The woman screamed to everyone else turning around. Steve just couldn't help himself so he ran back to the bus even though it was on literal fire and could blow up at any given moment now. You were to busy helping others to notice Steve was gone so you went around trying to find the girl with the pink shoes.
"Ava!!!" You called out looking at the shoes of every little kid you came across and even going to check and see if she wondered into the hospital. When you came back out of the hospital the bus flames were even higher.
"Steve? Steveee?" You called to see where you partner had went. You radioed him and he told you he was on the bus looking for Ava.
"Steve you have to get off that bus it's not safe!" You exclaimed.
"Well I just can't leave her here" Steve said back.
"You don't even know if she's on that bus" you said back to Steve running your hand through your soaking wet hair frantically. Steve must've forgot he left his mic on and you heard him speak.
"Hey Ava, look I know you're scared but your mommy's looking for you" you looked away. A branch fell onto the bus adding to the fire. Then BOOM! The bus exploded..
"Steveeee!!" You yelled because the whole bus exploded and you heard nothing from your radio.
"Steveee noooo, nooo" you ran towards the burning bus crying. A fairly large man who was a passenger on the bus grabbed you and held onto you as you cried out for Steve until you calmed down and was no longer trying to run into the fire. You dropped to your knees and got clarity after everything was over, he was gone..

Or so you thought.
"Is that him?"
One of the nurses yelled as you sat on your knees sobbing then a figure appears from the smoke holding a child in his arms. You stood back up in shock you just watched as Steve walked right passed you and hand Ava to her mother and headed in the hospital. You couldn't move, you couldn't speak, you just watched. Once the shock washed off you headed in the hospital shortly after Steve. As he was sitting in the chair getting his arm bandaged up you walked over to him and began to hit him in the chest and scream with tears still rolling down your eyes.
"What the fuck is wrong with you, I thought you were dead! You could've been killed! What the fuck is wrong with you!!"
"Take a walk y/l/n" Clint yelled slightly directing you out of the room. You walked to the waiting room and cried your eyes out and Bucky held you as you cried. You sniffled and bit and told him you were okay and he let you go. Your clothes were soaking wet and Steve was in recovery so the nurse who was walking you down to his room asked if you wanted some dry clothes. You accepted and went into the bathroom and put on the dark blue scrubs the nurse had given you and tied you hair back into a neat ponytail. You wiped your tears one last time and headed into the room. Steve was sitting there in a sling with his shirt still off.

"Steve" you cried lowly looking at the ground.

"Look whatever it is just save it okay.." Steve said and you declined.

"I want you" you whispered to him and he looked up.

"I know you wanted me to make a choice earlier when Brad and I started dating but I know now that it's you.. when I thought you were gone I realized it but it's you it's always been you.." you said as you cried through your words.

"Y/n" he looked up at you eyebrows knitted together.

"Your getting married.." he said in a low voice.

"I don't want him Steve I want you, I love you" you said playing with your fingers awaiting his response.

"But you're getting married..." he said a little slower as if you didn't understand.

"Brad doesn't love me he just proposed to me to make you jealous, I heard him telling Sam that earlier, I was just apart of his revenge plan to hurt you and when he found out how well you took the news he broke off the engagement because he knew it didn't bother you" you explained to Steve looking up at him.

"I was just a casualty in his plan I guess" you said looking at the ground.

"Doesn't bother me? Y/n it kills me everyday to see you with someone else, but the fact that you were happy meant sacrificing my own happiness because that's all I've ever wanted for you" Steve said getting up to look you directly in your eyes and grabbing your hand.

"So what does that mean?" You said sniffling and looking up at Steve.

"It means I love you" Steve said cuffing the back of your head with his one arm and kissing you very passionately. You smiled in between the kiss and replied.

"I love you too."
