Chapter V

MATTHEW POV

I was nervous as hell. Para ka namang teenager eh! I was with my parents since they've been friends with Tita Sandra and Tito Larry. Lumapit muna kami sa kanila before deciding to check with the Benettons. Nakita ko naman agad sila and I saw her, she's wearing a navy blue gown. She's always been pretty and sexy, but she looks a lot different now. She looks sophisticated in her body hugging long gown. Di tulad ng karamihan, who's bearing cleavage and all, she's wearing a long-sleeved gown which made her look like a freaking model.

"Akala ko di ka na pupunta eh." Tapik sakin ni Damon. Sabay akay sakin papunta sa table nila. Lumingon siya sakin, and it was the first time in a long time that we've seen each other. She looks the same and yet different.

"Hi, Alex." She looked at me and gave me a small smile.

"Matthew." And just like that she returned her focus on the stage. Everybody on the table was looking at me pwera sa kanya na nakafocus sa stage.

Well, I expected that, actually I expected her to be mad at me.Pero it's as if nothing happened. Relax Matt, nagsisimula palang tayo. Ayaw mo non? Mas madali kang makakalapit sa kanya.

Buong gabi kong sinubukang makausap siya, but since she's famous in the business world, hindi ako makasingit. I watched her talk with different prominent people and my heart swelled with pride. It was close to midnight nang magpaalam siyang uuwi, she kept looking at her phone the whole night.

Who are you texting Alex? Are you with somebody now? Sinundan ko siya habang palabas. Mag pagmamadali sa lakad niya.

ALEX POV

Nagmamadali na akong umuwi, mukhang may sumpong ang anak ko. Buong maghapon daw kasing naglaro kasama ang mga lolo niya kaya mukhang napagod lang ata.

Calling.... Ate Sally

Napangiti na ako. Mukhang di na kinaya ng yaya ni Gelo.

"Yes hello?"

"Mommy, please go home na..." Awww..

"Hi baby! Don't you worry love I'm about to leave." May ngiti sa labi kong sagot. Kung ako lang ng tatanungin hindi ako aattend dito but I have to dahil nakapangako na ako. Naalala ko naman si Matthew. Matthew... He looks a lot better now, more matured and buff.

Baby, I saw your daddy tonight. I'm not yet ready to share you Gelo. I really don't know what to do if he finds out.

"Leaving so soon?" Shit.

"Uhm, yeah."

"Hatid na kita." Why the hell should you?

"Oh, don't bother. I have a driver."

"Somebody waiting for you at home?" Why so many questions Matthew?

"Actually, yes." Natigilan naman siya. At walang sabi-sabing umalis.

Ano yon? Hanggang ngayon may sapak parin siya? Bahala nga siya!

"Richard, let's go." Yaya ko sa driver ko. Bahala nga siya sa buhay niya.

MATTHEW POV

Sinundan ko siya bago siya makaalis.

"Hi baby! Don't you worry love I'm about to leave." Who the hell is she talking to? Am I late?

I muster the courage to talk to her and volunteered to take her home but of course, she has a driver. Why not? Pero hindi mawala sa isip ko kung sino man ang kausap niya sa phone. Baby... Love...

I'm not giving up this Alex. I'm going to get you.

"So, how was it?" Si Larissa naman ang sumalubong sakin.

"I heard her talk to someone on the phone. She calls it 'baby' or 'love'. Whatever. Do you know if she's with someone now?"

"Well, you know Realeza's are very secretive. They value their personal life more than anyone in the business industry. Kaya nga hindi agad natin nalaman na isa siyang Realeza di ba? So who knows?" Sabay na kaming bumalik sa table ni Larissa.

"I may know someone who can do the digging." Larissa and I looked at each other knowingly.

After party, we decided to follow through with the celebration at Damon's place. Bilang hindi kami pwedeng lumayo dahil ayaw iwanan ni Damon si Angela na kabuwanan na.

"So, dude. What is your plan?" Tanong ni Vince. Hindi naman lingid sa kaalaman nila ang nangyari but they thought it was unfair for Alex to not know the real situation.

"Actually, I have a job for you Damon."

"Actually, you don't have to. Sandali." Umalis siya at pagbalik at may dalang folder. All of it was almost the same with the reports provided to me by my in-laws except for one thing.

"You think, their together?" I was looking at pictures after pictures of Alex with Atty. Keith de la Vera. It was taken in the US.

"I cannot confirm that pero I also have other news. Nalaman ko lang 3 days ago sa tauhan ko. A certain news leaked in the New York business news that Alexis and Keith actually have a son. But since Realezas are very powerful even in the US, the news was easily removed and the reporter was also fired."

"Fuck! Are you fucking sure Damon?! That can't be true!"

"Wag kang magwala dito Corpus. Kaibigan kita pero pag napaanak ang asawa ko ng wala sa oras, hindi kita sasantuhin. Ang sinasabi ko lang Matt, if you're that adamant to have her back, at least alam mo kung ano ang kakalabanin mo."

"I am not a Corpus for nothing Damon. Mark my words." Fuck! A son! What do I expect? I left her! But I cannot believe it! She wouldn't! or would she??

"Are they married?" Tanong ko after a few mintues.

"I think they're not."

"How sure are you Vince?"

"Well, I didn't notice any ring around the finger. No wedding ring, no engagement ring. So, I think they aren't married."

"Wow. You really got that?"

"Of course dude. You see, nakasanayan ko kasing tignan yon. Yes, playboy ako pero I know my boundaries and I respect marriage above all and I hope you do to dude. In case, you know, mali ako and they're actually married pala."

"That's the thing dude. I'm getting what's mine. Married or not."

"Just think about it first. Yun lang."

"I agree." Sang-ayon naman ni Damon.

"First things first. I need to verify your information Damon. I can't really believe it. A son? How old is he?"

"Don't know yet. Sabi ko nga, 3 days ago ko lang nalaman. Don't worry I will let you know once my update ako."

"What's your next step?"

"Just wait dude. Just wait."
