While the tv is on and birds chirping outside on the most beautiful day on a Friday afternoon could never be more relaxing. Candles are lit to make the air smell like fresh lavender as dinner is cooking on the stove. As I go to stir my soup there is a knock on my door. I put the spoon down and slowly make my way to the door. I wave my hand over the door and I feel the weirdest presence yet.
"Who is there?" I ask.
"Take a wild guess."
I roll my eyes and open the door.
"Devin what do you want?" I stand in the door way to keep him from entering.
"Look at you in your little shorts and oversized t-shirt." He smirks.
"Just cut to the point Devin. What are you doing here."
"I wanted to apologize about how I acted a few days again. I was totally out of line and should of never did that to you in the first place. I wanted to start over. Do you forgive me and accept my offer?" Devin rubs the back of his head.
"I forgive you and if it happens again I am putting you through a wall and make you regret everything you have ever done in life you understand?"
"Yes ma'am." He smiles.
I move from the door way and make my way back to the kitchen and stir my soup.
"Why does it smell like a lavender field and why do you have the news on?"
"Because lavender is a relaxing plant and it is nice to know what is going on in the world." I turn the stove off and pour two bowls of soup and pour two glasses of lemon water.
"Here let me help." Devin gets up and helps bring the food and drinks out to the living room.
I sit down on the couch and set my glass on the table as I start to eat my soup.
"So is it always this quiet in your apartment?" He asks drinking some broth.
"Yeah. I don't like the television loud and I love the sound of nature." I watch the tv until a message comes on. I quickly go to the tv and turn it off.
"How the hell did you do that Amelia?" Devin looking shocked.
"You need to go Devin. I have to get up really early in the morning." I make my way to the door and then Devin appears in front of me.
"You are a witch."
"And you are a vampire but I kept it to myself."
"So you knew this whole time who I am?" Devin leans against the wall.
"Yes I did, but you really have to go before I get in trouble with my supreme. I am not suppose to have any contact with your kind." I head to my bedroom.
"Amelia wait." Devin walks after me.
"What Devin."
"Later tonight go out on a date with me. I know a place where they can't track us."
"If I go on this date with you will you stop being a complete dick to me?" I rub the back of my arm looking down.
Devin lifts my chin up looking into my eyes. I knew then that I have fell in love with a vampire but he could never know how I feel about him."Cross my heart and hope to die." Devin kisses me on the cheek and heads towards the door.
"I will see you at 11:30 darling." He walks out and the door closes behind him.
I fall onto my bed and look up at the ceiling. Just how can a guy like him take interest in a girl like me. He is so flawless. Perfect skin, beautiful golden brown eyes, sexy smile, just everything about him is so perfect. Witches are not suppose to fall in love with vampires. It is forbidden for that love to happen. I mean my mom fell in love with a vampire and they had me so technically I am both but my supreme doesn't know that and she can never know. She is the reason my parents are in hiding. I finally get up realizing what time it is and I put on my short black dress, fishnet stockings, and a see through wrap. I put my hair up in a fancy ponytail and put on light makeup. I then spray on perfume and put my black boots on and wait at the window for Devin. I sit on the window sill as the time passes by and still no Devin. I get up and close my window and then there was a knock at my door. I slowly make my way to the door and as I do I wave my hand along the door.
"Who is it?"
"Darlin it is me. Devin."
I then open the door and there he stands. A white button up with the top two buttons not button and damn that dumbass smirk he always has on his face just kills the mood.
"Wow Amelia you look beautiful." His jaw dropped.
"You don't look to bad yourself."
Devin holds out his arm and I slide my hand in closing the door behind me. We walk in the moonlight as the cold breeze brushes over us.
"Devin I have something to tell you."
"What is it?"
We sit down on the edge of the cliff and look out onto the water.
"I am not a normal witch." I tuck my hands between my legs and looks down.
"What do you mean love?" He lifts my chin up.
"I am actually half vampire and witch. My dad is a vampire and my mom is a witch. They actually are in hiding.
"You know you can get yourself killed if they ever find out."
"Devin I know. It isn't enough to where I can't be out in the day but it is enough to where I am stringer than an average witch and vampire. I left my boarding school because I wanted to live a normal life as a teenager and attend my senior year and I am scared that they will find out who I truly am."
Devin and I sit in silence for awhile until he decides to take me to my apartment. As we approach my door he puts my hand in his.
"Amelia I really enjoyed getting to know and just had an amazing night in general." He smiles.
"I had an amazing night too Devin." I smile while blushing.
"I might be pushing it but would I be able to stay with you for a few days. My parents kicked me out and I really have no other place to go."
"Devin of course. I have a spare bedroom that is already made up." I unlock the door and walk in.
"The spare bedroom is right next to mine. I am heading to bed. I will see you in the morning." I kiss Devin's cheek and walk to my room closing the door behind me.
As the night grew darker my eyes grew weaker to stay open. I eventually dose off until the next day.
