I never thought I would be going to a public school because I am so different from the others. Now I have to try and keep my powers under control and can't let anyone know.
I'm Amelia and this is a story about how I fell in love with a vampire, but that will be later on. This is how I first met him.
I slowly walk up the steps to my new high school all nervous to hell because most my life I was in a school for the exceptionally gifted. That is when I knew I was a witch. My great ancestors back in Salem were witches and hung for their actions. I have to keep myself and the others I knew safe. I ran away from that school because I no longer wanted to have that life anymore. I got an apartment and decided to attend my last year of high school as a normal teenager.
As I walk into the school everyone was rushing around to get to their classes. Me being lost as can be wondered around until I found my locker. As I stand at my locker the bells started to ring and I have never been so confused in my life. I was the only one left in the hallway until Devin showed up and shut my locker as hard as he could.
"You are going to be late pretty lady." He looks me up and down.
"Yeah about that. I am completely new to this whole school thing. Would you mind being a dear and show me around or is your reputation going to go down the drain?" I smirk as I finish getting my books.
"You a feisty one aren't you?" Devin smirks.
I smile and walk towards my science class. As I walk in everyone stares at me.
"Sorry for being late I am new to this whole school thing."
"No need to worry just take a seat anywhere we are just doing notes." Mr. Williams smiles and points at the empty seats.
As I take my seat I start to get a weird feeling, but I have to keep this to myself. I finish taking down the notes and start to put everything in my bag. As I put my stuff in my bag someone slams their hand on my desk.
"May I help you?"
"So you are the new girl?" Stranger asks.
"No I am just here for the hell of it."
"Don't get smart with me." Her voice gets louder.
"Or what? You going to go tattle? This is high school not elementary." I stand up and make my way to the door.
"I wouldn't get on my bad side if I were you missy." She shouts.
"Veronica isn't it? I know all about you and nothing about you scares me. So have a wonderful day." I smile and walk out the room.
I start to head towards my locker until I get shoved into the janitors closet and the door slams behind me.
"Shh I am not going to hurt you."
"Who are you?" I ask.
"I'm Marty and I know who you are Amelia." Marty sits down on a bucket and lights a cigarette.
"Wait you use to go to that school I went to." I say leaning against the wall.
"Yeah. So you know who Veronica is?"
"Yeah she is half witch. Got kicked out because her powers weren't enough and she refused to try to make them better, but it would of never worked out because her grandmother studied voodoo along with her mother."
"How the hell do you know all that?" He questions.
"I can look into people's pasts along with read their thoughts they don't want to say out loud, teleport, mind control, set things on fire, find lost objects, etc."
"So you are pretty powerful."
"Yep." I reach for the door and open it.
"After school stop by my place so we can catch up." I hand Marty a sticky note with my address and I walk to my next class.
As the day goes by I find myself reading other peoples thoughts. As school ends I walk to my car until I get shoved onto the ground. I get back up, dust myself off and continue to walk to my car.
"Oh did you scrape your knee?" Veronica laughs.
"Veronica I know who you are. If you want to keep yapping like a damn dog I will expose you and ruin the rest of your life." I smirk and get in my car.
Streets filled with kids and dogs running around. Cats run the ally along with the roof tops where most birds are kept. Laughter fills the ears of the elderly as their grandkids play on the lawn. Sitting at my desk doing homework their is a knock on my door. I get up slowly and make my way to the door. I wave my hand along the door making sure that the person was pure.
"It's safe." I whisper to myself.
"Amelia open the door its creepy out here."
I open the door and Devin busts in.
"How the hell did you get my address?"
"My good ole pal Marty." He smirks as he sits on my couch.
"Bullshit. You don't know Marty." I shut the door and go back to my desk.
"How do you know that?"
"Lucky guess." I go back to scribbling down words.
Devin walks up behind me and puts his hands on my shoulders. As he does he leans down to whisper in my ear.
"I know what you are pretty." He moves my hair behind my ear.
"I know what you are too buddy." I brush his hands off but his grip gets tighter.
"Then say it."
"You are a trouble making asshole that needs to get off of me unless you want to get hurt."
"Or what?"
"Devin get out before I make you get out." I stand up and make my way to the door.
"Fine, but I will have you one day." He smiles and walks out.
I slam the door and lock it.
"That was a close one. I need some rest."
