Marvin arrived at a quiet house and thought nothing of it.

He set his bags down, save for a small one, and started making his way to the living room.

"Hey guys! I'm back!"

His only answer was the slight echo of his own words bouncing through the empty hall. He pursed his lips as he stepped out into the living room. Huh. Some of the furniture was crooked. Was nobody here or...?

"Hey! I've got the meds, where are you?"
He called.

Again there was no response. He went to set his bag down on the coffee table, but nearly tripped over his brothers, sleeping together in a ball in front of the couch. He was a little taken aback, but also had to laugh a little. That was cute.
He reached into his purse for his phone, to get a picture, but cursed when he remembered he forgot it. Guess a mental picture would have to do. Never as good for blackmail.

Or not! Clutched in Jamesons hand, right on top of Jackie's chest, was his phone. He smirked as he reached down and tried to gently pry it from his fingers. He just managed to get it, but Jameson stirred before he could do anything.

He blearily peered his eyes open and shook his head a little.

A shaky title card appeared.

"M... Marvin?"

"Aw... dammit, yeah it's me. You two look comfy."

Jameson didn't really react to that at first, he just stared up at him, looking almost confused, before glancing down at himself.

"Hm...? Oh, yes. I think so."

Marvin laughed again.

"I almost feel bad waking you up. Almost. Oh hey Jackie, you sleep good?"

Jackie woke up with a loud grunt, reaching up to scrub at his eyes with a fist before opening them.

"Huh? Wh...?"

He slurred. His eyes lazily glanced around before locking with the magician's, and they lit up with dazed recognition.

"Hi Marv."

Marvin chuckled again, before tossing the plastic bag he was holding into Jackie's lap.

"Wow, you really crashed hard huh? Those are your drugs if you want them, sorry I took a while, but the bus was late."

Jackie stared blankly at the bag for a few seconds, before slowly reaching inside and taking out the small bottle of pain pills. He stared at that too. For a long time.

"Thanks." He muttered.

Marvin's raised his eyebrows.

"Are you sure you didn't take anything already?"

Jameson stretched out as he stood, brushing himself off before reaching down to help Jackie back onto the couch

"Haha... no, I assure you he didn't. I would've liked that, he was in quite the state with his headache earlier!"

As he was sat back in his seat, Jackie snapped back to attention, startled by his own movements.

"Huh? Oh... I'm good."

"Are you certain? You were fairly inconsolable up until... um..."

He trailed off, frowning in confusion for a moment, before turning to him.

"Is that when we went to sleep maybe? I can't actually remember getting into this position."

The hero shrugged.

Marvin plopped down next to them, stretching out.

"Probably. Headaches always tire me out. But you're feeling better Jackie?"

He nodded, looking down at himself and tentatively flexing his arms.

"Yeah, I think so. I'm not super sore anymore so that's cool."

"Nice. We could continue where we left off then, I think there was like half the movie left right?"

Jackie's lips tightened into a thin line.

"Eh... I think I might just go chill out for a bit if that's alright, sorry, I'm still kinda tired."

"Oh it's fine, it's your day, you do what you want."

Marvin nodded, Jackie smiled.

"Thanks."

With a little help, he got himself off the couch, and hobbled his way to his room.

-------------------------------------------------------

Jackie was splayed on his bed, messily draped in the torn up sheets, entirely unconscious.
This would change soon.

Waking up was slow, like drifting up from the bottom of the ocean. It felt heavy and cold for the longest time, but the sensations were ebbing away as the minutes wore on. The deep blackness surrounding him was brightening, bit by bit, into a blurry offwhite colour. As he approached the surface, the colours hardened, gaining texture and depth, more and more detail revealing itself before he finally breached and... awake.

The hero's eyes opened, staring at his ceiling.

Jackie could only stare for a few seconds, adjusting to the waking world after being that deep in his own head, but then he blinked a few times and rubbed the heaviness from his eyes.

Oof, that was... wow. He didn't think he'd slept that hard since... ever.

He turned to the clock on his wall, and jumped when he realized the time.
Had it... had it been 4 hours!? He huffed. Well he wouldn't be sleeping tonight.

Tentatively, he started to sit himself up, careful to avoid brushing against his bruises, and he was relieved to find that they were a lot less sore than they had been, they didn't hurt at all! He looked to the door and thought about going out to the living room again, but glancing at the time again he realized that would mean Shneep would be home soon. He winced. He knew Henrik was only trying to help, but he just... didn't want to be prodded again.

He was feeling a bit better now anyways so... His eyes wandered to the jumpsuit hung on his closet.
It might be against Shneep's orders, but it wouldn't be the first time he disregarded those, hell, it wouldn't be the first time today. He smirked.

Slowly, he stood up and stretched, sliding off the bed. He scrubbed his hands over his eyes as he made his way to his closet, snatching the garment off of it's hook. What better way to test his health than with some work?
He was feeling fine, thinking clearly and all that, how bad would it really be?

As he sat down at his desk, a comfortable sense of normalcy fell over him and a small smile grew on his face. This was almost instantly better, something he understands. He removed the suit's log, a small device with a screen that is embedded into the lower sleeve, and activated it to review the last night's patrol.
