December 2019

The year 2019 was extreme. A major global disaster almost happened as a result of an increasing disconnect between countries , lack of TRUST and several bad coincidences  which had occurred in a short period of time....

In  November the Israel Defense Forces felt threatened by a larger amount of Iranian Revolutionary Guard Forces deployed south of Damascus/Syria.

This resulted in an attack by Israeli fighter jets. However, due to bad weather and the Russian air defense systems  the air ground surface missiles were fired to early and they hit a Russian Garnison which was located  in close proximity of the Iranian Revolutionary Forces which resulted in more than 100 casualties of Russian personal.

Russia reacted swiftly  by shooting down two of the 5 involved fighter jets and asking for the UN security counsel to condemn the violation of the Syrian airspace by Israeli forces. This did not go anywhere due to an  US veto... and the media was speculating over Russias next move.  In the meanwhile Iran threatened to aim directly at Israeli targets in case of any further attacks.

In July Tim Wolcak a coder and part time employee of Facebook coincidentally came across  a website called www.trustos.org. Facebook was in deep crisis and had lost most of its trust with their customer base resulting in a fast decline of revenues from advertisement and the stock value. Tim, who was always on the look out to improve his position at Facebook,  forwarded the link to the website through an internal e-mail to Mark Zuckerberg...

This e-mail reached Mark Zuckerberg  in a most vulnerable moment being under pressure by the public opinion and he had just decided to abolish the 'Libra project'... Mark Zuckerberg was desperately looking for strategies to overcome the thread to his company and found the idea of 'TRUST as a currency' somehow charming. His wife Priscilla encouraged him and finally  Mark Zuckerberg decided to  give  the idea of 'TRUST as a currency' a  chance as one among many possible attempts to resuscitate the reputation of Facebook. Tim received  a full time position as project manager with access to a small group of coders and  marketing staff  to develop the practical implementation of 'TRUST as a currency'.

In early December the peace talk with North Korea had fallen completely apart. In the early Morning hours of December 8th scientists in Tokio and in Seoul recorded an unusual strong seismic activity in North Korea in  the mountains close to the Chinese border. No missile launch however could be confirmed.

Media all over the world was puzzled... but late in the day Chinese authorities confirmed strong radioactivity in Shenyang , a Chinese city not far from the North Korean border ..... which indicated that an accident had happened most likely in one of North Korean Nuclear Power Research Centers......

The following days were dramatic due to lack of informations from the North Korean side and the distrust to accept any help from foreign countries.......

After some weather change the radioactivity could also be measured in Seul and it was assumed that it must also have reached Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea ......

In Mid December a Houthi rebel rocket hit a large oil refinery plant near Riad, Saudi Arabia which caused a fire blaze  which could be seen even from the International Space Station. The following day a barrage of cruise missiles hit an Iranian marine base near Bandar e Abbas, likely fired from a Saudi base as retaliation. As a reaction Iran shut down immediately the Street of Hormuz. The US condemning the response, urging Iran to reopen the Street of Hormuz within 2 weeks, was sending 2 additional aircraft carrier groups,  and immediately started to increase the already existing  military personal in Saudi Arabia. At the same time  Israel did put  its defense forces on high alert. In the meanwhile Moskau was signaling military help to Iran and there were talks held in Moscow to sign a military pact.
