Shine under the moon

"(Y/N) time for dinner"
Already?
I put down the cloth that i was using to clean my bike and went inside. "There you are, we are having your favorite, mac n cheese!" Mom grabbed a bowl from beside the pot and placed it at the dinner table. The bowl was filled to the brim with delicious cheesy noodles, the smell filled the kitchen.
I quickly sat down and began to eat
"Wheres dad?" I said after a mouthful
"He had to leave for a businesses trip with Dr. Owens"
"O-" i really wanted to see dad today, but i guess today is not my day.
After finishing my food i went back outside to finish up cleaning my bike. Once cleaned it shined a beautiful bright blue that seemed to almost glow. I strapped on my helmet and rode around the back of the house along a trail. I followed the trail as it led through a small forestry area that opened up to a small cliff. The cliff was beautiful, it was filled with luscious grass and flowers, with a perfectly flat rock in the middle to sit and watch the sky. I always come here when there is a full moon, and tonight it was absolutely gorgeous. The moon seemed to fill up half of my vision in its beauty. I parked my bike by the rock and set my helmet beside it as i sat down.
"I wonder who else watches the moon"
I was so intranced by the moon i almost fell asleep, but suddenly i hear a rustle and i jumped so high i almost fell off the rock. It was coming from my left. I wait for a good 5 minutes before i see the bushes move. A chill ran down my entire body as i figured out what to do.
Suddenly i see a tail poke out of the bushes. What kinda creature tail is that? From my study of animals i dont remember a tail like that. It was almost fox like, but way puffier, and a little bit shorter.
The tail started to sway towards me
I froze
Light gray head poked out of the bushes, and below its fox like head was a mane of beautiful white fluffy fur that covered its neck
What kinda creature is this? Its like a fox....but its not
"E-e-eevee?"
IT SPEAKS?!
The creature looked up at me with sad and scared eyes. Its eyes were a beautiful bright blue that shone almost brighter than the moon.
All of my fear melted away
I reached a hand out like you would do for a cat for it to sniff your hand, but it backed away. I kept my hand there and kept it as steady as i could. After about another 3 minutes the creature cautiously stepped forward and sniffed my hand. Finally it put its head under my hand. I felt that it was still tense so i slowly moved my thumb over its soft fluffy fur. It flinched at first but slowly started to calm down and become less tense.
*At least im making some progress*
I then began to pet its head with my whole hand, and after a flinch it began to calm.
I looked over at the cliff.
Dang it, the moon is beginning to rise higher, from the looks of it its already 9:00, i had to get this creature home.
I looked back at my hand that was still rubbing slowly over the creatures head, it looked so peaceful, but i had to get it home
I slowly lifted my hand and the creature looked up at me
"Do you want to come home with me?"
The creature tilted its head and its light grey tail rapped around its legs as it sat down, the white tip of its tail ending a little past its second leg.
"Eevee?"
*so it really can speak*
"I can get you food and water, but only if you come home with me"
The creatures ears lowered, i never noticed how big and long the ears were
"I can give you as much head scratches you want as well"
The creatures ears perked up a bit as light shown in its eyes, but it looked down at the ground as if it was thinking of what to do.
After a long while it looked at me and got up, its legs shaking. It walked towards me and put its white tiped paw on my shoe and looked at me.
I knew at that point i had gained its trust enough and i smiled down at it.
I went over and put on my helmet and rode the bike to where the creature was. I scooted back enough where the creature had enough space to ride on the front of the bike. I tapped the seat to where it was to sit and it cocked its head at me. After a second it realized what to do and slowly walked over as it never took its fearful eyes off the bike
Finally it jumped up onto the seat and after getting it to a comfortable position i started to ride slowly down the trail. After a good 10 minutes I parked my bike by the door and took off my helmet
Suddenly a question crossed my mind
*How am i supposed to get it inside?*
I looked at it as it jumped down from the bike, the fox like creature was a smallish size but bigger than I first realized, its ear tips reaching just below my knees. (Your character is around 5:3)
*my backpack!*
I ran to the back of the house, jumping over the gate and grabbed my old backpack that was sitting by the back door. I ran back to the front to see the confused looking creature.
"Ok, all you have to do is get in the backpack for a couple minutes so i can get you to ny room, ok?"
The creature began to shake
"E-e-e-evee?!"
It looked fearfully at the backpack
*is it afraid of it?*
I held out my hand to its head "its ok, it will only be for a minute or two i promise"
The creature still looked terrified and wouldn't take its eyes off the backpack
*maybe some food will do*
I checked my backpack for some food from one of my camping trips
Thankfully there was a snack bar left in it
I opened it and handed it to the creature
"Heres some food, you can have even more food if you come inside"
The creature began to shake less and slowly began to sniff the bar, and after a little while it took a nibble at the end. Its eyes lit up and it began to jump gracefully up and down
"Eevee! Eevee!" It sang as it jumped
I smiled and pulled out the backpack and it stopped jumping. "Please, you can have the rest after we get you to my room, my mom must be worried sick" The creature looked at my and hung its head, then it slowly began to climb into the backpack. I zipped it up, keeping enough room for the creature to see a bit out and breath fresh air. Finally i walked inside.
"Just stay quiet till we reach my room" I whispered
I closed the door quietly
"There you are" my mother said coming from the living room
"Yeah sorry, i lost track of time"
"Thats fine, just send me a text next time ok? Why do you have your backpack on?"
"Oh i ummm, i wanted to bring some food just in case i got hungry"
"Oh, ok, you can put it back outside if you want-"
"No no! Thats fine ill keep it in my room" i said cutting her off
She looked at me puzzilingly
"Ok then, do you wanna watch the rest of stranger things with me?"
*crap!*
"Ummm, maybe not today, im really tired..."
"Oh, ok we'll watch it tomorrow then, goodnight" she walked back to the living room.
I went to the fridge and grabbed some water and went upstairs to my room. I went through the door and and quetly closed the door and went beside my bed as i carefully sat the booksack down and unzipped it. The creatures head immediately popped out, it jumped out, its whole body shaking and breathing heavily.
"Hey hey, its ok, here." I pulled out the snack bar and placed it on the ground.
It looked at me fearfully, but went and began to eat the bar.
*well at least its eating*
I went over to my desk and grabbed a bowl that i kept my jewelry in and cleaned it off, setting the jewelry on the desk
*when will mom learn that i dont care for much jewelry*
The only jewelry I really liked was necklaces, some held meaning, and they had there own beauty.
I sat the bowl next to the creature, it flinched but went back to eating. I poured the water i had brought into the bowl. The creature looked puzzingly at me and then the flowing water. It lifted its paw and swatted at the water, then realizing it was wet it jumped back and shook off it paw looking shocked. I couldn't hold my laughter and fell to the floor laughing, almost spilling the rest of the water left in the bottle. The creature looked at me and then smiled and lifted its head proudly which made me laugh even more. Finally i was able to get to my knees and i placed the bowl by the creature. It went into a attacking stance, raising it back end in the air and swooshing its tail. It looked aggressively at the bowl and did a little playful growl. I chuckled as it realized that it was for drinking and it started to lick at the water. After finishing it looked at me and i held out my hand. Just like last time it put its head under my hand as i began to pet it. I smiled and pet it for a couple minutes before standing up.
"Ok, its time we finally get some sleep so i can figure out what to do with you." I went over to my closet and pulled out a pillow and a blanket and made a little bed for the creature.
"Here ya go, you can sleep here" i said patting the little bed.
The creature walked over and spun multiple times on the bed before carefully laying down. The creature smiled happily and closed its eyes, and fell into a deep sleep as its face calmed and its breathing slowed. I slowly got into bed and turned off the lamp beside me.
"GoodNight, you little shine"
