Spot Conlon was not your average 1899, 17 year old newsie. Oh no he was known as the king of Brooklyn, the newsie of all newsies. Anyone who thought otherwise won't live to sell another pape (newspaper).
"Extra, extra brutal attacks on 5th avenue!" Sophie hated lying about newspaper headlines especially when the story was on page 16, orphaned puppies attack new owner with cuddles at the 5th avenue pet store "who writes a story about that" Sophie chuckles to herself. Sophie was new to the newsie business she had brown curly hair and dark brown eyes, but was more of a Tom boy which was a good thing to because the famous cowboy Jack Kelly would only lodge with him and his newsies if she dressed like a boy because it would ruin the all boy newsie reputation.
"Hey Jack" "hey Sophie, how was the selling". " not bad but I still hate lying". Sophie looked down slightly disgraced. "You gotta earn a living though, those scabs won't take pity on you if you were a beggar" Jack said, I nodded in agreement.

I bought my 50 papes from weasel and set out to work.
I always notice though why our newsies never sell on Brooklyn bridge, apparently that's where the real selling is so I thought why not. Little did I know this was going to be my first big mistake...
