11 ~ natsu & echo

Natsu listened carefully to Lucy as she ran further away from him to the opposite direction of the tunnel - her slightly fading footsteps was the last thing he focused on, before aiming his attention to his own opponent.

"Its gonna take a lot more of ya to kill me." Natsu chuckled in reply to Echo's earlier words. He slowly began to step forward, the outline of the woman ahead of him becoming clear as he got closer.

He stared into the darkness of her green eyes, they were dull and shallow - as if behind them lay nothing of a conscious human being. Her long black hair was now tied up in a high pony tail at the back of her head, though still traveled down nearly to her knees, flicking around in the air as she moved.

Her red coat worn earlier was replaced with red metal plated armour - the type that clinked with movement, rattling noisily as if making a statement. Across her waist lay a holster, wherein she had her sword, hand wrapped around its handle as if ready to attack at any moment.

"Confident you are," She displayed a sultry grin, as she mirrored Natsu's actions in stepping closer. "that will be your second mistake."

"Second?" Natsu laughed, scratching his head in an attempt to figure out what possibly couldve been his first. He stopped in place, about 5 metres away from Echo.

"Your first being showing me up in the village." She growled, her eyes flashing in anger as her nose scrunched up. "That made me very angry."

"Oh yeah?" Natsu replied, as he lifted an arm and opened his palm. "Wanna know what makes me angry?" His face fell serious and he reflected the anger in his eyes. "When dirt like you, mess with innocent people at their own homes!" He raised his voice a little louder, breathing in and out heavily as he let his adrenaline build up.

"Oh? That angers you does it?" She mocked, her low voice echoing across the walls. "I'd hate to get you all worked up now, wouldn't I!" She cackled.

Natsu engulfed his fist in flames, setting his face aglow from beneath and only working to emphasise the serious expression across it. He faintly heard Lucy's voice from all the way across the tunnel calling to Loke, and he sought some kind of confront in knowing she wasn't completely alone.

He focused back on Echo.

"Let's get this over with." He said through grinding teeth. "I've got Lucy to get back to, and I'm not planning on leaving her alone for long." He growled, as he jumped into an all out sprint and headed for the woman ahead of him.

The boy felt he had some kind of advantage - knowing her magic type. It seemed similar to Erza's, as she wielded swords. But he was yet to see the full capacity of her power.

"Fire Dragon ROAR!" he yelled as he jumped up and cupped his burning hands around his mouth -he let out an enormous stream of scorching fire directly over Echo, it's extreme speed taking anyone else off guard.

But as he landed back on his feet he was graced with the image of Echo's smile; arms held above her head, with a hand on either end of her long sword deflecting his attack. She didn't have a scratch.

Natsu mirrored her smiling face, grinning back at her.

"I'm just warming up." He stated, rubbing his hands together as if to brush off dust.

In the blink of an eye he lept in the air, boosting himself off the sword she still held upon her head to lift himself higher.

"FIRE DRAGON WING ATTACK." he yelled, as his arms burst to flame and he slammed down directly toward echo.

Her sword disintegrated under the heat of his attack, blade melting between her fingers as the handle fell to the floor with a rattle. With no sword to defend her, Natsus attack hit her head on - throwing her to the ground with such force she seemed to embed into the stone.
