3. Vanno is no more.

I had a nightmare.
Vanno was holding me while we listened to Nero and Angelo talk about their stupid booze.
He whispered to me about making a life away from this, making a peaceful life.
I never seen Vanno more then my brother.
But now I guess I can't see him in anyway now.

" want me to make some coffee?"

I looked at Vanno weirdly in my dream and realized it was something someone said in real life.
I woke up and saw Corteo and Angelo.
Angelo had an awful look on his face while he inhaled an cigarette.
He looked at me then back to Corteo.

" where you two here the whole time?"

I nodded and said.

" yes, we wanted to stay awake until you came home..."

He just stared at me and said.

" it wasn't you. Right?"

That left me confused.
Angelo told us that Nero and barbero caught him during the killing.
Yet they didn't see who shot Vanno.
So Angelo got away with it.
Angelo was allowed to escape Nero for one reason, to find serpente who escaped during this.
The plan was to get cerotto to fess up about serpente body and if he knew where it went.
So currently me and Angelo were hiding behind the door near the bar.
Corteo was getting the information out while we listened in.

" when are you going to take that off..."

Angelo looked down at me.

" probably never, I'm thinking about turning it into my size and wearing it."

I held vannos jacket close looking at it sadly.

" why do you care so much for him, do you understand who he is to us."

Angelo said desperately.
I nodded and sighed.

" I know, but he was so kind to me, he made me believe in my future...that's all.."

" what's your future.."

"You know, a happy family, and an amazing husband."

Angelo froze looking at you with wide eyes.
We heard cerotto talk about what he saw that night and I focused in.
Angelo was still focused on what I said.

" yes, I was with Avilio and Vanno. All I did was offer serpente some booze."

"Then what happened?"

" I knew things had gotten bad, but I couldn't help getting curious... then I followed them to the graveyard and saw them both down. I'm pretty sure they took each other out."

"But serpente's corpse is gone. The way the things are, it looks like you killed Vanno and helped serpente escape. "

I watched as cerotto get scared.

" were you going to make that family you wanted, with him?"

I heard Angelo speak up.
I turned to him shocked.
Does he not understand what's happening! What if he saw him kill Vanno!

" really? Right now?"

Angelo just stared at me.

" no, no I wasn't. We're just close that's all. Brother and sister if you must know. Now focus!"

He tsked and glared at Corteo and cerotto.
He had more questions but I was right. He should focus.
We saw cerotto turn towards us and Angelo sprung to action.
He pointed his gun at cerotto and walked towards him.
I walked out and stood behind him with my arms crossed.
Not gonna lie, vannos jacket was too big for me so I draped it over my shoulders, with this look and my dress I feel like a badass.
