A year later . . .
I patiently waited for the light to turn green as I hummed to the faint song playing on my car radio when the ringing of my phone disrupted.
"Well hello there girlfriend!"
"Please tell me you didn't forget and you're on your way?"
"Am I supposed to pick you up somewhere today?" I pretended.
"Yah! Lalisa!"
"Yah! Park Chaeyoung!" I imitated her and laugh. "I'm on my way baby . How could I forget today! I'm driving. I'll find you when I get there okay?"
"Yeah, yeah whatever."
I shake my head and let out a cheeky smile as I started driving off. I'm getting married in a few months to the cutest human Chipmunk I've ever met.
Park Chaeyoung who also goes by the name Rosé is a painter and an art teacher. We've only been dating for three months but it doesn't matter right? She loves me and there are a lot of things that I love about her. I think it's enough reason for us to get married. There's no sense in delaying it when it's where this relationship is going to lead anyway.
I park my car in front of Zhen's, an entertainment company in which we were supposed to meet our wedding organizer. I know it's weird but just so you know, she actually owns the company. Rosè said she actually offered to organize our wedding because they've been friends ever since she bought one of Rosè's painting.
"Excuse me? I have an appointment with a certain Ms. Zhen."
"Oh you mean Mrs. Kim?" The woman behind the desk asked.
"Well, if Mrs. Kim is also known as Ms. Zhen then yes. I'm actually a little late. My fiancé's already here," I answered.
"Can I have your name, please?"
"Lisa?!"
I froze where I was standing as I thought I've heard her voice. I haven't heard that voice for a long time but I knew it too well to know the person that owns it.
I heard the footsteps coming closer and I internally panicked. This meeting haven't even crossed my mind over the months and I don't know how to react in this situation. I don't think I'm ready to see her again. Let alone talk to her. It's been years since she left.
"I'll take it from here." It was her voice again. I'm totally not dreaming!
"Yes, Mrs. Kim."
She bowed before leaving and that was when I got myself to turn her way suprised.
"You're Zhen?!"
"It's been a long time," She timidly smiles. "You're still adorable."
"And you're married." I blurted out without thinking as I looked at her wedding ring.
"Yes. Yes I am."
She shyly tucked her hair on her ear. Something she usually does when she feels awkward. I shake my head for a moment and let out the fakest happy smile I know.
"Well, congratulations! Although it's a little too late for that." I let out an awkward laugh.
"Lisa-yah~"
Chaeng came out from God knows where immediately slapping my arm. "Why are you always so late?"
Jennie scoffed causing Chaeyoung to look her way.
"Wait, you knew each other?" She looked at us back and forth.
"Yeah, we uhh . . . We've met—"
"At a film store but uhh we've never formally introduce ourselves. I just thought she looked familiar," Jennie interrupted. "I'm guessing she's your lucky girl?"
Chaeng wraps her left arm around my waist as she smiles widely nodding at Jennie.
"Well, yeah she's Lisa and baby this is my good friend Jennie, our wedding planner and organizer."
Good Lord! My ex girlfriend is going to plan my wedding! Fate must have been playing on me. I'm going to be a mess!
