The stages of falling in love :

1.) lust: physical attraction

• It was not a secret that (Y/n) had good taste in fashion, I mean her and Ino did go shopping with their Moms from time to time, you know the saying "the clothes make the person" to Shikamaru it was her confidences that make the clothes work he seen people wear the same outfit but it didn't make it any better but (Y/n) she made them work

2.) Early courtship: jittery nerves,
" butterflies in the stomach" feelings

• By the time they were Genin Shikamaru always got a weird feeling in his stomach whenever (Y/n) was around, even when she was walking by him or even watching the clouds with him, sometime he would even stutter his words when they were alone, he became a nervous wreck when his parents tell him your family would come over.

3.) Being "Obsessed"

• Shikamaru would worried nonstop when you were on missions outside the village, when you're with your teammates he would get jealous how they were always near you, Shikamaru got to the point were he threatened one of your male teammate for getting to close to you, he would follow you home to make sure you got there safe and sometimes he would watch you sleep.

4.) start to idealize your romantic interest

• Shikamaru can't help but become stronger in secret he didn't want anyone asking questions, he was amazed when he watch you train with your sensei, you got stronger and even got better at shogi not that you can win against a Nara but it was still impressive , you dare I said it made a Nara man work hard for once, what a drag but he knew it was all part of the plan he had to make you HIS troublesome woman.

5.) Uncertainty starts fading away as couples settle into relationships

• Shikamaru confesses to you one day while cloud watch, of course you liked him too but you never thought you had a chance,Temari was always near him, trying to impress him and acting bad ass, while you were just that hyper childhood friend, who never get the chance, Shikamaru Nara Konohagakure smart but lazy shinobi confess to you.

Saying Shikamaru was happy was an understatement it fed into this sick obsession he had, at first it was a normal relationship filled with love and passion, then turn into possessive and needy, at first you thought he was worried for your safety.

But no, you notices how old friends turn away from you, how almost everyone got scared when you came close, how the only people you can talk to was
Ino, Chōji, your parents, Shikamaru and his parents.

It made you think something was wrong with you, after months of this you went to lord hokage to stop give you mission outside the village and give you mission inside the village to rebuild the trust with some of the people, it was all part of the plan Shikamaru had, the perfect way to make believe it was your plan along. He give into your request and give available tasks to you, thanks to kakashi-sensei for not putting up a fight the puzzle was looking right, luckily for Shikamaru he didn't have to get is hands dirty but he didn't have to he was a genius, he had a plan for everything it like a game of shogi plan your moves and sit back and watch the pawn play.
