A Wolf's Flame

The beast inside of me

It was a somewhat quiet night with crickets chirping loud outside of the house. Suddenly a loud shot can be heard out side of Nova's room inside of the house. She gets up to see who it is. As she slowly opens the door, hoping it was just her mom dropping something, she is met with a big hound the size of a small horse. She falls to the ground with a gasp seeing the terrifying creature in front of her. The hound bares his teeth and growls coming her way, when suddenly a deep voice called to the hound

  "Max! Calm down. Stand your gaurd." Coming from the dimness of the living room

With these words a man starts to walk twords Nova. She scurries to get up and tries to get under her bed, an hide from that men. Then a hand grabs her leg and pulls her out, causing great paint on her stomach. She saw it was the man who yelled at the hound. He then grabs her by the shirt collar holding her up twords his face.
Nova uses her hands and grabs at the front of her shirt so she is not suffocated but the weigh of her body against the it. He holds her up to the other guys inside. Nova started to cry as she sees wat had happened out side her door. Her deciesed dad laying on the floor, a gun shot wound in his chest and her beaten mom being held by another man.

"See I told you there was a child, she'll be worth a fortune" the man said looking her strait in he eyes with a grin that would haunt her.

"You leave my daughter alone you pig!" Nova's mom yelled twords the men.

"Shut her up. Before I end both your lives" said the man with anger in his voice.

The man holding her mom suddenly pulls out a knife and puts it under her mother's chin. Suddenly a wave of anger, frustration, and sadness hits Nova like a rock. She clenches her fist and teeth and looks at the man holding her with deep rage. She growls and her eyes turn a bright yellow that seemed to glow.

"Nova no!!" Her mom shouts with very little strength in her voice.

Suddenly a bright blue light came streaming form Nova's body. When the light had dimmed, Nova had turned into a large red-ish brown wolf Almost he size of the hound.
She bit the man arm holding her and was thrown to the floor.

"Max, jack, luke!" Called the man, as he pointed at Nova while clenching his teeth.

Suddenly two other men turned into hounds and surrounded Nova, as all of them bared their teeth growling.

"Well now wait a minute ... would you look at that, not only is she a pure bred, she's also a werewolf. And here I thought you were just hound shifters." Says the man as he lifts my mom's head looking at her beaten face smiling.

Nova barks and growled at all three of the hounds as they slowly corner her. Holding her breath and letting out a river of tears down her cheeks the mother suddenly has a green light form from her body. The man suddenly turns around only to find a 6 foot wolf gutting up and running twords Nova. The mother then tackles all three hounds and grabs Nova by her back fur. Without stopping one second she runs twords the door, breaking it down and the frame being smashed due to her size. Suddenly another shot is heard. The mother winces in pain but continues to run. Nova cries at the sound and wines, trying to look her mother in the face. She hears the hounds barking and horses running. her mother then picks up her speed. Nova continues to cry as she feels her mother's breath get faster.

"There they are! Get them you idiots" says a man with a raspy voice, as the hound bark and pick up speed.

The hounds then are right beside Nova's mom bitting at her tail, legs, and anything they can get ahold of. A white hound with a grey tint in his fur tries to grab at Nova, but is ran over by her mother's legs. Nova continues to cry as she saw were her mom was heading ... The crows cliff.

"Get her now before she makes it to the cliff!!" Says one of the hound to the rest.

"Mom are we going to make it!?" Nova shouts as she looks at the gap only half a mile infront of them.

Nova's mom beging to cry and a shaking tone is in her voice when she says, "I don't know Nova, but if not, I want you to know ... that ... I love you, and I would always be there for you no matter the situation ... No prepare for the jump!!"

Nova tries to close her eyes and prepare but couldn't help but watch. Her mother uses all the strength she had left in her hind legs and pushes herself forward as she makes the jump. Just as she is about the land a voice is heard.

"SHOOT HER DOWN!" Says one of the hound in his human form.

As Nova's mom has her front paws close to the ground, she heres the ignition fire and feel her mom being pushed forward. This causes her the land on her back and roll dropping Nova in the process.

"What the hell is wrong with you! Are you insane"says the man with the raspy voice, holding the front of the mans gun, who shot, down

Nova lays there with a broken heart as she now know what was waiting for her if she turns around. With tears running down her face and muzzle, from physical and mental pain, she slowly looks back with very little hope.
Her mom was still breathing, but very little. She runs twords her and looks her in the slowly dying eyes.

"Nova ... I want you to r-un, far from here! D-don't look back! I'll alw-awys be with ... You ... I love you." She says as she cries unable to breath properly.

Then she lets her head rest on the green-brown grass and takes one last breath. Nova couldn't move no matter how hard she tried. All she could do was look down at her now dead mother and cry. Only to feel her start to scrunch her face with anger and look over at the hunters. 'It's all their fault. They killed her ... NOW THEY NEED TO PAY!' she thought in her head as she slowly got up, and felt a tingle in her throat. She walked twords the edge of the cliff. Her mind suddenly goes blank. Her mind wonders as almost dreaming not knowing what she was doing right now.

Nova dreams of her mom and dad sitting on the porch of their old house, as she plays in the yard. She looks into the dence forest as she hears a noise, almost like screams, as she sees birds fly out in terror.

"What was that mom?" She asks looking at, what looked like her mom but she had a feeling it wasn't.

"I don't know hun ... Just ignore it" Her mom says.

She looks over only to see fire all around her.
