All I can hear is beeping, and snoring. Loud snoring, as if a mountain had collapsed. It probably could with the power of there snoring. My eyes flutter open involenterily as the motion-activated light above my bed turns on. The person who'd been snoring was Jughead, but light seemed to startle him too. I give a slight smile to him, a thank you. He reluctently smiles back, not wanting to ruin his reputation, I suppose. His bad guy mistique.

The smile automatically stops as the doors fly open. Two nurses with a giant ass tray.
"Hey..", she checked the notepad displayed at the end of my bed,
".. Betty. Nice to see you awake. How are we feeling today?", The brunette nurse on the far left asked, adding a sympathetic head tilt.
"Go-od", I manage to croak out.
"Well, the x-ray scan has just been confirmed that there is no significant injury to your head, but we would like to keep you overnight for observations. We've ran several tests and you've just had a slight concussion. Me and Sarah..", the brunette waved as if we'd known each other longer than minutes, "will be checking on you for the next day or so."
"Yes, so don't be scared to ask us for anything you need. Just press this button..", sarah explained, pointing to a bright red button on the remote that controlled the bed, "..and we'll be here in an instant."
And with that, they were gone. The other one to the right of Sarah was called Nancy, it said on her name-tag.

"Did you enjoy your power nap there?!", a physically and emotionally drained Jughead joked.
"I know they say women like there beauty sleep, but down you think this was a bit much?"
He chucked at his 'amazing' joke, as I shot him a glear. Nothing like pity.
"Sorry, ice princess, too soon?"
"Too soon!", I croak out again, causing us to both arupt into laughter.
"You did-n't have to stay yanno?! I'm a big girl, I can look after myself."
"Well, I'm not sure about that, you can't even walk down four stairs," he smirks, "but seriously, it's my fault you fell in the first place, I wanted to make sure you were ok.", I could sense the concern in his voice.
"Wait, is The Infamous Jughead Jones actually showing emotion?! Wow, im shocked!"
"Shut up smart-ass, why would I give a damn?!", He whinned, clenching his jaw. He cared, you could tell.

Jughead was just about to leave, after an hour of back and forth arguing, when my mother sashayed in. Of all people, my fucking mother!!

"Alice", I let out a long, exaspirated sigh.
"Why the Fu.."
"Darling, please call me mum, or mother. I don't understand why you incist on calling my Alice. And before you ask, I'm here to look after you", the devil-in-prada interrupted, "..sweet pea."

That last "sweet-pea" was overkill, and I think Jughead noticed. He placed down the jacket I'd spent ages trying to convince him to take, with his arguments involving, "you might get cold", and, "but, it smells like perfume". Thinking about it made me giggle, warenting a concerned look from both the nurse just outside my room and Jughead, but not the she-devil.

I gave a nod with my head just to make it look as if I was sane and not high on god-knows what medication they forced down my IV line.

"Look Alice..", receiving a death glare, one that could search through you're soul and find yours darkest secrets, one that a teacher give when your talking.
"..mother..", teeth gritted, ".. there's no need for you to be here. Jughead's here, and it won't be long till I get dispatched, so there's no point."

Alice slammed the door shut behind her, giving the nurse a fake-smile.

"First.."
