~third person pov~
"Take a look at all these articles.....all about you dear"
"Get that filthy paper out of my face!!!" Alice snatched the newspaper out of Francis hands, ripping it into shreds. "Oh come on, I was only joking with you" Francis tried to put an arm around Alice, but she pushed him away. "You sided with the child! What did I tell you?! This was going to happen" she had been angry from the loss she revolutionary war in America. "My country sided with her, not me....." Francis said looking away. Really he wanted to get back at her for the loss he received from the Seven Years' War in 1763."You took her side! I knew what was best for her, so do not dare try and touch me, I am angry with you!" Alice stopped off to a seat. "Cornwallis' surrender at Yorktown effectively ended the Revolutionary War. Lacking the financial resources to raise a new army, the British government appealed to the Americans for peace." Francis tried to read to her. "Cornwallis surrender my arse, she would have not won if you did not step in to help her. You and those other European countries."
She crossed her arms trying to look away from him. It had been a couple weeks since the war ended, Alice Hated the sight of all the newspapers. Other countries called her to gloat about her own daughters victory. "It was bound to happen dear, you were too strict with her" Francis pointed out. She turned to look at him angry. "You have no idea what it is like to raise a colony. You had my dear Madeline fight against me too, who does that?" Alice crosses her arms some more trying to look away from Francis.
"You eventually need to go speak to her, clear the air a bit" Francis took a seat beside her. She refused to look at him. She was trying to hide her face. "What is wrong?" Francis asked. Alice started to cry ,soon putting her face in the palm of her hands. "Amelia is just so young, how will she make it on her own?" She started to sob. Although the royal family was not pleased with the performance she had dealing with the colonies. It was hard for her to fight against her own children, and lover. She fought the war alone and it broke her heart.
"Alice....I am sorry, will you ever forgive me?" Francis places a hand on her shoulder and she would not turn to him. "But just talk to the children. No matter what happened, war or not....they still need their mother figure to go to them" Alice finally turned to look at Francis, eyes red from the tears. "You know how many times we fight against each other? And you know what? We always manage to make up. ...."
"Hehe, we do fight a lot of wars Huh? That is not very good" she laughed.Francis smiled at her , soon lifting her up. "I will go with you to leave for America tomorrow. I am sure I can visit my girl Maddie, and you try and make things a little right with Amelia?" Francis fixed her hair with a smile. "And try not to fight with her anymore. Just listen to what she has to say." Francis kissed her forehead softly. "Alright fine, as you wish" Alice shrugged letting him stay above her head. "Do not worry, love" Francis tried pulling her into a hug. But was soon interrupted when the door opened.
Alice quickly pushed Francis away as they both stared at the person coming in nervously. "I told you to knock when I am in a meeting" Alice said in a strict tone. One of the servants walked in , and all he did was stare at Francis with disgust. "So sorry Ms.England , but The king and queen request your presence at once.....and they would like for Mr.France to leave the castle right away" Francis and Alice looked at each other for a second before she spoke. "I will be there soon, I am just finishing up right now" she smiled. The servant nodded at the statement, soon leaving the room.
"They like me or they don't like me, they need to decide" Francis laughed. Alice shook her head at the comment before picking up her pen, ink , and paper. "I will discuss with their highnesses of visiting Amelia tomorrow for business purposes. You are welcome to come of course. We will meet at noon for the shipping docks" Alice fixed her hair a little in the mirror before smiling at Francis. "I suppose this is my cue to leave" he laughed. He picked his coat up and smiled at her. "I will send a message to France about my departure."
They both walked out of the room and separated to different ways. Alice took breaths in and out as she walked to the throne room which the king and queen spent time deciding issues for Britain. "ahhh , Alice. I called you because we need to discuss some economic casualties that are issues after the war. We need you to make some friends with some of the asian countries to help assist us with supplies and such" Kung George the third watched as his wife spoke to Alice. Alice continued to listen to their needs and demands.
What they expected of her as usual. So much so that she began to daze off a bit. "Is that understood?" The queen asked. "Yes, your highness" Alice smiled with a bow. "Any questions?" They asked. "No, but I do have a request" Alice smiled. "Which is?" The Queen asked. "I would like to visit Amelia, please, I beg of you to let me go tomorrow" Alice took another bow as she began to beg. "Ms.America huh? Do you plan on going alone?" The Queen asked. Alice stood up and looked at her. "No ma'am" the king had caught on and stared at her. "I hope that one of your brothers will be escorting you. A lady is not safe by herself, especially at the colonies at this time" the king said looking at her suspiciously. He knew that she had planned to take. The "French scum" as he called Francis.
"Alright, you may go, be back soon, however you will not be leaving tomorrow, you may in two days" the Queen ordered. "Yes, your highness" Alice took a bow and escorted herself out of the room.
