*flashback*

"I have a surprise for you."

An ecstatic Jungkook drags you down the hallway to his apartment, your eyes covered with his bandanna, as it acted as a blindfold. You try to keep up with his speed, nearly tripping over your own foot in the process.

Aishh! Kookie is gonna kill me before I can even get to the surprise.

You both approach his apartment, you hear keys being dangled and the faint squeaks of the door opening.

"Open your eyes!" Jungkook exclaimed.

You quickly take off the bandanna only to reveal fairy lights twinkling from each corner of the room, a beautiful arrangement of flowers that sat in a clear vase on the counter only to be the center of both of your parents, standing just behind it popping confetti canons.

You held your hands over your mouth, you were in shock.

"Happy Birthday Y/n!!" the three of them shouted in unison.

"We wanted to surprise you, but this was all Jungkook's idea. He bought us tickets to come see you out here for your special day." Your father smiled, pointing to your best friend. Jungkook shrugged shyly.

"D-do you like it?" Jungkook asked quietly, his cute doe eyes almost staring into your soul. You stood there speechless for a few moments, taking it all in.

"I can't believe you guys are here! Kookie yo-you did this all for me?" you finally exclaim, hugging both of your parents tightly, then jumping into Jungkook's arms. His wrapped around you just as tight. "Thank you Kookie...this is the best birthday gift I could ever ask for."

Your best friend's face became hot as he heard those words, he really was glad you liked the surprise.

You really couldn't believe Jungkook would do this for you. To have your parents here to celebrate your birthday was truly something special, after all, they did live 6,000 miles away from you, in the United States.

The four of you sat down for a meal Jungkook and your mom prepared together. Jungkook was always very good at cooking, but his lazy ass would never cook a meal, which upset you a bit considering you loved eating whatever he'd make.

Kimchi fried rice.

"You know, you two are just so adorable together." Your mother said before sticking a spoonful of rice into her mouth. "I'd date him if I were you, y/n. Matter of fact, get married alread-"

"Y-you know. This is GREAT Kimchi fried rice." you cut off, the quick subject change made it obvious you were embarrassed at your mother's comment. Your mother knew you had a crush on Jungkook, so the fact she brought it up had you mildly upset.

Both you and Jungkook glared at each other, he almost spat out his food from laughing, but he managed to hold it in. You smiled sheepishly.

Jungkook could tell you were a bit embarrassed, as he placed his hand on your shoulder, his thumb rubbing your skin through your shirt. His touch managed to cool you down, but the silence in the room made your recovery much harder. You hear Jungkook giggle quietly beside you.

He probably knows you like him now idiot.

"Anyway- this was a wonderful dinner. Let's bring out the cake shall we, then we'll be on our way." Your father said. He got up from the table and pulled out a red velvet cake from the fridge. Your mother turned off the lights, and Jungkook appeared with a lighter and sparklers. He placed the sparklers onto the cake and lit them one by one.

"생일 축하합니다!" Jungkook finished singing, his eyes set on yours. "Happy Birthday Y/n."

My parents clapped and you did as well. You loved his singing, it always sent chills down your spine. After eating some cake, and catching up a bit with your parents, they had left for you and Jungkook to hang out together alone.
