Y/n's P.O.V.

There were many Pokemon in the wild area. Too many. Per usual, I tried to avoid tall grass at all costs, but sometimes, it was inevitable. My Cinderace was brave and was able to defeat any Pokemon in its way. I, on the other hand, was not the type to have any encounters, Pokemon or Human. I was only comfortable near the people I knew well, including my mother, my Pokemon team of 3, and Hop. I've known all of them just about my entire life (actually my entire life in the case of my mum).

"Y/n!" I hear someone behind me yell. Immediately my brain processed the voice. It was Hop, my best friend,  and... as embarrassing as it is to say it, minor love interest. I might be lying when I say minor, but I just haven't had too much time to think about it, so I keep it how I say. You had no idea where he was, but he was close. Either that or his voice had become something you had memorized and began to ring through your mind.

I unlocked my Rotom phone and looked at the time.

9:00 P.M. already? I knew it was getting dark but really? That late?

I opened my backpack only to realize the most unfortunate; I had forgotten all my camping supplies at home. It was too late at night to call a sky taxi or take a train to go back home to grab it or anything, and Motostoke was still too far away from where I currently was. Mentally cursing myself for not paying attention to the time earlier, I continued to wander around the wild area.

Ghost-type Pokemon passed by me almost every step I took, and every time they scare me. A shiver was sent down my spine whenever their purple mist surrounded me, or when their ghastly screams filled the silence, or even when you saw something purple above ground level. Dear God, almost anything scared me at this point.

It was no question that I was certainly scared to death when someone came from behind me and grabbed my shoulders. I turned around at a frightening speed, and even more frightening was the purple object in front of me.

It was only when I stupidly tried to punch (which judging by my strength wouldn't do nearly anything) that the object, or person, rather, spoke to me. "Y/n, wait!" They exclaimed while I lowered my shaking fist. "What are you doing out here?" Hop asks.

"I- I could ask the same," I reply. Hop gives me a look that tells me 'you answer first' and so I do. "I kind of... forgot my um... camping supplies back home," I explain awkwardly, scratching the back of my neck. Hop stares at me for a while, and the glint in his eyes are telling me that he's thinking.

"Well," Hop starts, sounding like he's about to explain something life-changing, "It's way too dark to walk at this hour so...."

"So?" I question, anxious for an answer.

"Why don't we set up camp together?" (I swear I was so close to writing "Why don't we sleep together" but stopped myself lol letmedienowpls)

Before you even answered, the boy had already taken out his tent and begun setting it up. It was amazing how fast he got set up, as you were stunned as in under 5 minutes he was already done.

"Y/n, do you have any berries?" He asks as he brings out the pot.

"Y-yes but only a few," I say, digging them out of my bag. "Cinderace, light the fire please."

Once the fire is lit, Hop took the berries and placed them in the pot, with the other essential ingredients. I watched as the meal was prepared, and as he dished it out into equal portions for us and our Pokemon.

"Hop, this is delicious!" I exclaim as he blushes which, for whatever odd reason causes me to blush as well.

My thoughts were interrupted by the cry of a wild Pokemon, making me jump in my spot. I hadn't even noticed it until now, but we were camping almost right next to the collapsed tower and all the Ghost types. A Haunter passed overhead, making a horrible cry as it turned to face me. On instinct I ran into the tent and curled up, hugging my knees in the corner. Hop rushed in at the sight.

"Hey, hey, Y/n, are you okay?" I shook my head, too scared to speak. "Y/n it's okay, you don't need to be scared or anything!" His efforts to help calm me down helped, but not by much, no, not much at all. "Here, hold on," he says, grabbing a Pokeball from his bag. "You can hug him for comfort if you want," and his Wooloo gave me a fluffy little snuggle. I smiled, but it quickly faded at the sight of a Gastly passing by the tent door-flap.

"Hop, it's not helping," I say, tears brimming my eyelids. I could see in his eyes that he thought this was his fault, and that he was scared. For what reason, I did not know, but certainly not the same as mine. I was shaking more and more with every passing Pokemon. "Hop, I-" I said, cutting off my sentence from my brain being too fried from fear to think of words.

"Y/n, they're not going to hurt you, I swear," says Hop, grabbing my shoulders and looking into my eyes. "They're Pokemon, you've seen them before, there's nothing to be afraid of!" He continuously comforts me, and it's somewhat working.

"Hop... I'm still scared..." I couldn't sleep now, and neither could Hop. Hop, actually, didn't want to sleep. According to his own words, he'd rather comfort and protect me than sleep. "One night helping a friend is worth much more than a night sleeping," he had said.

Unsure of what I was even thinking at this point, I hugged him. His Wooloo nuzzled my face affectionately while Hop hugged back. My face was heating up quicker than my Cinderance could set a blade of grass on fire. What was I doing?

"Are you feeling better now Y/n?"

I look down at the floor of the tent I was sitting in. "Kinda..." I mutter. "I just..." my voice becomes that of a whisper "I just want to hug you more..." my eyes trailed from the floor to the ceiling, a dreamy look dawning upon them.

"What did you say?" Hop asked, blushing madly. Shoot, he must have heard it! I shouldn't even have said it out loud! "I mean... if you- if it would help then I guess I could-" His sentence got more and more awkward as it dragged on, but he slowly brought his arms around me, enclosing me in a warm embrace. "I hope that helped," he said, before kissing my forehead.

The look in his eyes said it all. 'Why did I do that? What does she think? I'm so stupid!' Thoughts like those were being portrayed by the light in his eyes. I quickly pecked his cheek as a response to his silence. "I like you too, Hop," was the only thing I said, yet, I left him absolutely dumbfounded.

"For real?!" I nodded. "This has to be the best day of my life!" He raises his fist into the air, not unlike how he would do with the victory of a Pokemon battle. I smile slightly at his antics.

"You're better than the Wooloo, by far."

Well there friends, I hope you liked it! I feel like this chapter was better than the others, I don't know why. Wooloos are so freakin' fluffy dear lord I want one so bad.

Anyway, I'm sorry this took so long! Usually it would have been just an hour or two of writing but I spent so much longer because I was watching a movie while writing. (My brother wanted me to watch Avengers: Endgame with him in the basement, which, I'm not complaining I like Avengers movies but BOI- I'm trying to write a request here can you like, not? So now I'm writing this at pretty much midnight but I really don't care because my sleep schedule has gotten to the point where I only need like, 3 hours of sleep. Convenient.

Well, good night, or morning, or afternoon, or evening, like I know your timezone. Cya lovely folks in the next chapter!
