There are three weeks left for the wedding. YOUR WEDDING. And you're at your rehearsal party. Everything's going just the way you wanted it to go and you're so happy that you can't even contain it. Scott, your hubby to be, looks at you across the room and smiles and you smile back immediately. It was three years ago that you had met him at a bar, and it all started with you being drunk and him taking care of you even though he didn't know you. It had been two glorious years after which he proposed and obviously, you said yes. After a year of engagement, you decided to get married in a beautiful garden just outside the city with an intimate crowd, just family and close friends.

It was everything you could have asked for but a week before the rehearsal dinner you saw him kiss another woman, which would have been enough to end the wedding but you loved him and let him give you an explanation. He makes up some bullshit about how she was his ex and she forced the kiss on him blah blah blah and as innocent and as naive as you are, you believed him. So anyway, after the rehearsal dinner, Scott introduces you to Louis, Scott's best man and the journalist who will be doing the news paper article about your wedding. Everybody's turn was over, Scott had given his reviews, all the best men and bridesmaids had, now it was your turn.

Louis would just tag along to all your spa/salon appointments, cake tasting, flower selecting, et cetera., taking down notes. It was the day of your gown fitting and you went along with your maid of honour and Louis. After putting on the dress, you looked at your self in the mirror and teared up a little while your maid of honour, Layla, started crying buckets.

Louis then said, "Gosh! How do you fit in such tight clothes. If I were you, I'd just wear gym clothes."

"Haha, well that's what you'd do. Not me, or Scott for that matter. We want this."

"Maybe you want this but Scott..." He trailed off.

"Scott what? Tell me! Did he say something to you?" You argue.

"Ah... nothing. He didn't say anything." Said Louis and you just go back to the counter to get your dress packed and ignore him for the rest of the trip. Layla bailed because she needed to pick up her niece from school and left you alone with Louis. On your to the cake tasting, Scott calls you up and tells you that he can't make it because he's stuck in a meeting. So you're stuck with Louis for the rest of the day. On the way, you stop for lunch.

After a lot of NOT talking and ignoring each other, Louis breaks the silence by asking, "Hey, I'm sorry (y/n). I shouldn't have said anything, I had no right to stick my nose in your business. I'm sorry."

"Apology accepted. Now what do you want to eat? My treat."

"Um, I don't know, I'll have whatever you're having." So both of you order lasagnas.

Halfway through the meal, Louis says, "(y/n) I need to tell you this and I'm not going to repeat myself. But I have this guilty feeling inside of me and I need to get it out. I'm breaking a promise, a promise that I made to Scott, my best friend, but I can't let him take advantage of your unawareness and innocence and use it against you for the rest of your life. You're a good person and you deserve to know the truth. The girl he kissed, the girl you saw him kiss, well she's kind of his mistress. It makes me sick to even talk about it. But yes that's what she was and still is, he sees her everyday around this time. Maybe that's why Scott made an excuse about being in a meeting. I'm sorry but I think I'm doing the right thing by telling you this."

You only listen with your ears and everything around you starts to spin. It makes you sick when you imagine Scott cancelling your cake tasting for your WEDDING to be with some other girl. It makes you want to kill someone. You knew it then and there, the marriage had ended.
