Damsel in Distress

The next day his sister had already heard the news so before they went to school she made sure to let him know how unhappy she was.

''Listen here unwanted nerd, it's already bad enough to see your face at home so don't even come close to me at school. Keep your distance and prepare for the hell I'll give you in there,'' whispered the sister as a clear threat. Maximus ignored her as always but his little creatures didn't.

''Ah that little.. Who does she think she is? Why don't you threaten her back? Or better, let me put snakes in her locker, then she'll learn the lesson...'' urged the fennec fox.

''No! Remember, if people throw stones at you pick them up and build a fort but never throw back,'' advised the frog. With that the animals started to argue and Max laughed internally. When he got to the school he realized it was much bigger than he expected. There he received his schedule and a buddy that would help him until he adapted. Everything was very different for him and he felt so alive with everyone around him, he was excited for the future for the first time. 

He was in awe with everything. He was anxious about his new colleagues since he didn't have much contact with people and he never had a true friend. He was hopeful though. His tour buddy was worried that he wouldn't understand the content but Max was not really worried about that, he had already learned everything they have and more. He had a lot more time and that makes a huge difference, he was studying college material at home now with his personal professors. 

As expected, the classes were easy for Max but the students weren't, his sister really did make his social life hell. At that school there were rules against homophobia but student didn't follow them since parents had homophobic traditions and they passed on to their children. Christine knew that so she started spreading rumors that the new student, Max, is gay. 

 People didn't even need confirmation to start the abuse. They caught him in lunch period and started the name calling and punching. It was only the first day but all that it took was one rumor to ruin all of his hopes. It was probably because they wanted someone to punch and that Christine was very popular so everyone believed her. He was already bleeding when a green haired teenager called Nathan found him and stopped the three bullies. He might have a small body structure but he fought like Bruce Lee, and the bullies gave up after the third punch.

Max couldn't stand his beauty, he was so different than anyone he had seen before with his green hair, unbuttoned shirt and piercing. Not only was he absolutely hot fighting, he was fighting for him! Nobody had ever done that before and that gave him some new feeling. He didn't recognize what he was feeling so he decided to ignore it, even if it was strong, he was not here for relationships after all.

''Damn! Saved you, your welcome! Are you okay?'' asked Nathan while holding his injured wrist. Max noticed Nathans injury and felt even more guilty. He was embarrassed and imagined he looked weak. All of that made him irritated so without intention he snapped at Nathan.

''Saved? What am I? The stupid damsel in distress? I don't need a prince to help me. I could've saved myself if I wanted!'' hissed Max while walking away.

''I'm sorry, that's not what I meant... Lets go to next period together, when it's over I'll buy you a drink to apologize, alright?'' agonized Nathan while catching up with Max.

''Ooh a drink? Are you going on a date with this rat? Don't tell me you're gay,'' scoffed the fox.

''Shush fox! Don't you know love has no boundaries? I completely ship it!'' exclaimed the frog.

''Shut up both of you!'' whispered Max. It's nothing of that sort, or is it? 

''What?'' asked Nathan confused.

''I said fine,'' replied Max realizing he said that out loud. He had to be more careful or people would think he talks alone. 

''Oh I didn't even properly introduce myself, my name is Nathan. '' said the green haired boy. That was the first time that Nathan properly looked at Max and he was so shy it was cute. Just his type. 

''Right... uh...My name is Maximus but call me Max, nice to meet you,'' answered Max while blushing. The intense stare that Nathan was giving him sent shivers down his spine, good shivers. Not only that, he had a heartthrobing smirk. 

''Ha, you are so cute being shy. Nice to meet you as well. You know, you don't really look like a Maximus if that makes sense... I'll call you princess since you told me yourself you were a damsel,'' Nathan said while laughing. 

Max was totally red from hearing all that. And they were so close he had tingles all over. Still he tried responding to Nathans remark, ''Wha..No! That was not.. I meant.. I told you I was not the damsel in distress! Call me something else then!.''

''Too bad. Now let's go Princess, the classroom awaits and the bell already rang,'' said Nathan while grinning. Max still didn't budge so Nathan grabbed his hand and walked to class with a starstruck Max being behind him.
