Once Upon a Time

Once upon a time there was a naive boy in a cruel world. He was a damaged and broken boy that suffered too much, but still cared for others, especially the animals. He was abandoned at a young age and a man found him on the street and decided to take him home. Unfortunately, a few years later the mans life fell apart because of unemployment and divorce. He had no conditions to care for the toddler so he convinced his older sister to adopt the infant he found. She was in a much better condition as she had married a very rich man and she decided to help her brother since she and the husband wanted a son. When the child was given to the couple he had a note that said ''Your name is Dimitri. It means earth lover. Never forget that. I love you - mom''. 

The foster mother never gave him the note and she also decided to change his name to Maximus which was a more fitting name for the family as it means ''the greatest''.  Her brother never knew that she took the note herself and hid it and the child was too little to remember or understand what happened. Maximus lived with his adoptive mother, his adoptive father and his adoptive sister, Christine. His new parents ended up having the boy they always wanted because a girl is not socially accepted to replace his father's role on his firm. They even tried to have a son but the mother was no longer suitable so they decided that Maximus would be enough as long as he did not know about his past. 

The adoptive father was incredibly successful and were in charge of the biggest oil company of the state. Unfortunately the parents did not care for Max's emotional state. They cared for him being the best heir, therefore, he did not have parents but cold hearted teachers. His new family had angel blue eyes and golden hair while he had black hair and blueish grey eyes. Externally the hair is the only remarkable difference but deep down Max knew he was an outsider in that house. 

His adoptive sister had even less interaction with the parents so as expected, Christine felt jealous and that caused her intense hatred for the adoptive boy. She loathed him and he never understood why. He tried many times to apologize without even knowing what he did wrong and even though she attacked him physically and emotionally he never treated her badly. She would break things and blame him and she would throw a tantrum whenever he gained some kind of recognition. She once killed his pet lizard and that was the only time that he ever raised his voice at her. He felt responsible for the lizards death so in his mind he was standing up for the dead and innocent animal. That was the first time he stood up to her and even if she doesn't admit it and that he doesn't realize it she stopped with some of the violence.
