The whole day has been a blur of worksheets and essays and she was just beside me the whole time.

It's been hours but still, I couldn't stop thinking about the last words she said in my room this morning and it's driving me nuts.

"You have a nice body" she said.

"I have a nice body.." I whispered. "Fuck this shit."

"Who are you talking to?" her voice came from behind me.

I wasn't so surprise to see her this time.

"No one, just me."

"And you say I'm crazy? Your head is kinda messed up."

"Says the girl wearing a costume mid year."

"Maybe I came from a party." Her face transformed like that of a little girl at that moment and I can sense that she was about to cry. I hate it when girls cry.

"Maybe? I said. "you're not sure?"

"I don't remember what happened."

"Like nothing?"

"I woke up in Saint Andrews street. I don't remember where home is, or if I have family or what my name is." she was looking at a far off place as if the person she was talking to was out there.

"But I have this tattoo, on my wrist, see? It says Jace. So I think it's my name, at least I hope it is."

"Jace , it's a nice name. Can I call you Jace from now on?"

"I think I'd like that " she smiled and it made me feel a little better too.

"So you don't know what happened to you?"

She shook her head no as an answer.

"How long you been there before I saw you?"

She laughed bitterly and said. "It's kinda hard to tell the time when you're doing nothing. Not feeling anything but fear, curiosity of who I am and where I'm from. It may be days or weeks that I was there, but it felt like years."

"You haven't tried going anywhere?"

"I have, many times, but I can't get past the city so it must mean I'm from around here. At least I want to think so. I want to think that I'm rooted here. Haven't you seen me before? " she asked almost begging for an answer.

" I'm sorry I haven't. I think I'll know if I have."

"It's okay." she smiled. "I just hope I remember it soon."

"I'm sorry" it was all I could say.

"It's not your fault. And I don't know whose fault it is. Maybe mine."

"I'm sure it isn't." I tried to reassure her.

"Oh Barney. I didn't know you had that side."

"You are such a cray cray."

"A what?"

"Crazy" I said.

I was so lost in our conversation that I didn't notice Alec was already behind us.

"Dude ,who are you talking to?"

"What? No one.."

"Hmmmm.." he sighed, unbelieving."There's something wrong with you..."

"No there isn't."

"Yes there is. "

"Nope"

"There's really a girl isn't there?"

"What girl?" asked Jace.

"No one" I said, as an answer to both of them. "There is no girl, none."

"I'm a girl" whispered the girl whose name may or may not be Jace. "And what is he talking about?? What girl?"

"Nothing.." I whispered.

"Bruh!! Who the hell are you talking to??" , alec - "you're starting to creep me out!"

"You!! I mean there's nothing, no one, there's nothing and no one. That's it."

"Okay...." He said , raising an eye brow at me. "If that'll make you sleep tonight. Anyway we have a date tonight."

"Noooo." This is what I've been dreading.

"What date?" Said Jace.

"Yes.." Alex grinned like he just won the lottery.

"I am going to kill you!!!!!"

" Not if she kills you first!!" Then Alex dashed off running.

"Freakin freakin bull. Aaaarggggh!!!"

"O--kay.. may I ask what's happening? Who are you talking about? Why are you scared?? "

My phone rang suddenly and I saw that it was Alex calling so I answered it.

" What do you want??" I barked at the phone.

I heard Alex laugh impishly "I'm sorry" he said, " I just couldn't help it"

"I am going to haunt you if I die tonight!!"

"Awwww, you're gonna be such a cute ghost. I'm feeling so scared right now. "

"I hate you Alec.."

" oh but you love me. You know you do.. we'll see you tonight okay?"

"Like I have a choice? She'll probably bust down my door if I don't show."

"Okay!! It's a date then! See you 6 at St. Andrews cafe. "

I have 2 hours to spare so I went home since all my classes are done. I changed into a black shirt with purple bar code design paired with a shorts jeans that made my legs look as long as forever. Or so I'd hoped.

"You look nice." I just smiled when I heard her voice coming from where my bed was, I think.

If you'd have told me that I would have a girl stay in my room almost 24/7 I'd have told you that you were losing your mind.

But now I think I am.

"Thanks" I said. "I'm just going somewhere for a bit okay?"

"Can I come?"

I was actually dreading the moment that she would ask me that cause I didn't know how to say no to her.

"Uhmm.." I started,

"I won't bother you. I just.. maybe I can look around the area and maybe i will remember something... and just.. I don't want to be alone.."

And that did it.

"Yes, fine.. "

Her face lit up and she suddenly jumped up and ran to hug me.  To my dismay her arms just went past my body and it just felt like air blew from my head down to my toes.

"I.. I'm sorry" she whispered.

"Don't be. "

For a moment i wondered.

What would it feel like to hug her. ?
