"Jaden." Zena said as she entered the kitchen in the backroom. And for the nth time, "Your clothes are so weird."
Jaden was wearing jogging pants and a black shirt when he came here. And right now, he's wearing some trousers and a long-sleeved shirt because Zena was washing his clothes.
Jaden just chuckled awkwardly. "Clothes here aren't comfortable at all. It's hot and itchy to the skin." Jaden thought. Then he continued eating breakfast, sunny-side up and some normal pig's pork as bacon. Sunlight was passing through the windows of the building. Along with the wooden parts of the house, the feeling made Jaden relax.
Now, it's been a week since he came to this inn. And he hasn't done anything a player does except for single-handedly hunting for meat. Instead, he made the inn flourish. Softer beds, flowers, the food-- he divided food according to when they are best eaten and he also made a menu so that customers won't have to guess what food is present here.
That gave birth to breakfast menu, lunch menu and dinner menu. There was also a menu for beverages and snacks. And obviously, business has boomed since he came here. And the bestselling breakfast beverage was... Coffee!
Jaden loved his new life and he's already had 13 platinum and some gold from hunting every night. He got that much just by selling two Advanced Bestial Armaments and some meat. He was content of his life. But if he doesn't progress, this relaxing life will soon become boring. So, he wanted to create things that are not yet in this world. For example, a light bulb.
Jaden laughed at the idea of being this world Thomas Edison (Or whatever, Nicolas Tesla? Anyways). As he thought of that, he heard the system's announcement. "Skill Acquired: Engineering"
Jaden was shocked for a moment before opening the interface. Two skills were displayed-- Engineering and Undeceived. He clicked on Engineering and it displayed a bar with a plus and minus icon on either ends. "Probably, the level gauge." And he clicked on the plus sign multiple times. Jaden was waiting for something to happen but nothing immediately happened.
But as he stopped expecting, a surge of information attacked his brain. Not painful or anything but he felt like falling and drowning at the same time. His vision went blank and he felt like he can't breathe although he is able to. He fell down the chair he is sitting on and went completely limp for a moment. He grunted after the horrifying experience.
"Jaden!" Zena immediately helped him stand up. "What happened?" Zena asked as Jaden grunted over and over. "Information... overload?" Jaden answered quietly. He felt weak from the experience.
"Why? What happened" she repeated. "I maxed out one of my skills instantly." Jaden answered with a soft chuckle. That was foolish of him.
"Ugh, sorry. I forgot to tell you. A temporary setback will happen if you max out your points instantly. Do it slowly once every twelve hours is the best. If you max out instantly, your head will suffer from too much change, or your skin and bones will snap, depending on the skill.
Jaden was still shaken up by the experience. But he tried to check out some earth appliances. And amazingly, he knew all, ALL of the inventions that he's ever seen in earth before. He can create it. What he lacks is the materials. He smiled for a moment before falling asleep.
---Next Day---
Zena was working early in the morning. But then Jaden came near her and whispered, "I'm gonna go out and search for materials. Wanna come?"
Zena's eyes flashed with excitement as she nodded enthusiastically. She equipped some light armor and a dagger, both ruined by battle.
Jaden didn't like the state of her equipment, so he promised her that he would buy her some equipment on the way home.
