Chad was spoiled, no doubt, even he admitted it. He had the best education, ate the best food, and had many pets. Basically he lived a lavish life, he had everything he wanted. But of course, it was never enough. He found himself lost in an endless loop of buying things he didn't need only to feel disappointed afterwards, returning what he bought.
As a child Chad didn't have any friends, none of the other children wanted to play with him. He was no fun, and bossy, and way too "mature". But that wasn't why he had no friends. It was because he didn't think he needed them. He thought that having friends would only bring him disappointment. He just wanted to stay home with his fat obedient cat and watch his maids work. That was how it was, how he wanted it to be. He didn't see why he would need anyone when he had money, and his cat. Chad couldn't think of a reason he'd want to spend time with anyone else.
That was, until Tyler came into the picture. Tyler was the opposite of Chad; he liked playing outside, socializing with the other kids and had way more pep in his step than Chad. Chad didn't know he was coming until one day he heard his mother screaming in the living room while she was having tea with her friends. Of course, Chad was there to calm her down while her friends panicked and cried, expensive mascara dripping onto their pristine whites they always wore on Sundays. A couple of the maids came running in to calm his mother while the others opted for help.
Chad was scared that day, the only time he's ever been scared really. He thought he was going to lose his mother. Of course he didn't know what was going on, he was too young, and was never told she was having a baby. He just assumed his mom ate a tad too much on her recent trip. That night one of the most trusted maids, Mrs. White got his father to bring Chad to the hospital, and there he was. As a baby Tyler looked so tiny and fragile.
"I don't want to hold him," Chad would complain. "What if he breaks?"
From that day on Chad was a changed man, he was there for Tyler, and Tyler appreciated it. He made Chad feel like
he was important, like he was worth a while. It was his responsibility as a big brother to protect him.For the rest of his life.
