(Wrote this my freshman year, I'm bored so i thought why not put it on here)

I am falling down a long, dark hole.
Like Alice, it goes on and on.
But I can see a light at the end.
I can feel the pain and happiness,
The gain and loss.
I will hit the bottom.
The hurt is imminent,
It is cold, it is warm,
It is stolen moments.
But still I fall.
When I hit, I will not get up.
I did not mean to fall.
Oh, why am I so clumsy?
But I embrace it.
I accept it.
The dark leaves me unknowing,
But I do not fight it,
I do not try to stop.
Instead, I plummet faster.
When I hit, I will break,
I will be broken, but I will not cry.
I will smile,
Because you are safe at the top.
You did not fall down with me.
I will close my eyes, and let go,
And hope that I will stand.
But if I cannot,
I will smile through the tears,
Because you are alright,
You are happy,
You are safe from the shattering of a heart.
And that is the sacrifice of a love not shared...
