I woke up immediately and looked around. Keagan was driving the car and Maggie was resting her head against the window snoring loudly.

"Hey sleepy head we finally made it to the exit, but by the time we got there you were fast asleep. We are now about 25 minutes away." Keagan began to look at his watch.

"Shit! I had a dream you freaking died right before our eyes. How long way I out?"

"Damn I didn't know you hated me that much."
I rolled my eyes at him

"About and hour and 45 minutes. There have been Fleshies everywhere. I haven't seen one living person since we were in the highway."

"Living person?"

"Ya I have a theory that whatever these fleshies are is they aren't human at least not anymore and you can't become one unless they bite you."

"So the only way this.. diseases is spread is my physical contact with it's teeth?"

"Exactly there has to be a more smart term for it, but I don't know if we will every figure that out."

"So you're saying this is our life now? That we can't go back to how it was before. No more pizza deliveries, parties, alcohol. I mean I j-just turned 21 I haven't even lived my life." Tears began to fall from my eyes.

"Awww man did you have to start crying now I feel bad. The only way things will go back to the way they were is if these fleshies don't wipe out all of the human race. This disease might only be in the United States. The government might still be surviving."

I wiped the tears with my sleeve and looked out into the street the rest of the drive. We drove past houses and cars, but nothing seemed alive. All that was left were creeps. We might be the only humans left and we have no clue what the hell to do. I mean I can't even shoot a gun how am I supposed to survive without be able to kill a creep. The snoring in the car stopped as Maggie woke from her slumber.

She turned toward me "So what am I going to do about contacts I can't even see without these things. Am just going to have to wear them every day and ruin my eyes?" I bursted out laughing.

"Wow do we have a hyena back there!" I smacked Keagan in the arm.

"I have a nice laugh actually and are we almost there I really have to pee badly."

"We have actually just arrived." He said pulling into a driveway.

"A frat house are you serious Keagan these boys are probably already dead. It's like a ghost town outside." Maggie said unbuckling her seatbelt.

We all opened our doors and stepped out. Snow flakes were fluttering to the ground. I wish we didn't have to go skiing but Maggie really wanted to and since our spring break was in mid February she thought this was a great place. Our spring break was a month earlier and a week longer than usual because of renovations our college was having. I would pay to be anywhere else right now. Even in class taking an exam would be better than this.
We walked up to the house hoping that it was empty of creeps. Maggie began to lift her hand to knock, but Keagan stopped her.

"Umm I live here we don't really need to knock." As he opened the door I gripped the gun in my hand tighter quickly switching off the safety.

"Em what are you doing you don't even know how to use that." Maggie whispered to me as Keagan began to walk inside.

"It's better than nothing and besides it makes me feel safe." I whispered back to her.

"Hello Jaden, Nick is anyone here?" Keagan yelled ushering me and Maggie behind him.

It was quiet as we walked in the boards creaking with every step we took. There were cups everywhere and the floor was stuck in making my shoes stick with them. They obviously had a party before all of this happened. We walked into what looked like a living room with a ping pong table set in the middle. Couches were tipped over and up against the wall cushions were thrown all over the place.

"Maybe we should split up." I offered in hopes that the house was empty.

"Okay Emma you go down that hall right there towards the kitchen while me and Maggie clear out the upstairs" I nodded my head and we both went out separate ways. In the hallway there was nothing but a bathroom and storage closeted and then I stumbled upon the kitchen. It was an absolute wreck. Cabinets were open bowls of food were sitting out dishes were broken all across the floor. I heard a crunch under my boots and I found pretzels all over the floor.

"Great now I have food and beer all over my shoes." I mumbled

"Oh my god KEAGAN!" I heard Maggie yell muffled by the distance between us. I heard a loud thud and as I ran up the steps towards my friend. Something was on top of Keagan and I took a shot. The sound deafening my ears.

"Holy shit!! Human being right here don't shoot me." I just stopped moving standing  there frozen in my spot gun still pointed out in front of me as a guy about 6'2 stood up pulling Kegan along with him.

"Hey it's okay Emma you missed just give me the gun." Keagan slowly took the gun from my hands as I began to recover to real life.

"I-I-I didn't mean to shoot you I thought you w-were a creeper." I almost shot a living person and luckily I missed, but what if I didn't. Maggie then grabbed onto my arm pulling me towards her.

"Damn Keagan I didn't know you had two girls with you."

"Shut it Nick can't you see you scared her. She thought you were a Fleshies." Keagan then tucked the gun into him jeans making sure to switch it to safety.

"A beretta M9 where did you get a gun like that Keagan?"

"Maggie, Emma this is the guy who will hopefully teach us how to shoot a gun correctly." He made eye contact with me before turning back to Nick.

"Is anyone else with you."

"What can you seriously not just appreciate me." Keagan rolled his eyes at Nick seemingly not appreciating him. "Of course I'm not alone. Everyone else is in the basement. We were having a banging party when this all happened. You really missed out dude." He smacked Keagan in the chest as we followed him down the stairs. He glances towards me and Maggie still holding onto one another. "Though it seems you had your hands full."

Nick ran a hand threw his hair and that's when I finally had a good look at him. Brown floppy hair with a strong build. Almost like Keagan, but Nick had these piercing green eyes that were obnoxiously super hot. Since Keagan was a football player I suspected so was Nick he's easily got the height and strength. We finally reached a door that we hadn't checked earlier and we headed down the steps. In there basement there were about 5 other people 2 of which were girls.

"Jaden. What the hell happened here." A guy stepped forward clapping handing and pulling Keagan into a hug. He had darker skin and brown eyes, but there was no doubt that he was hot. He walked with confidence like he knew he was, but he wasn't going to say it. And he probably played football too.

"Man we were having the sickest party when all of the sudden people were running out of the house. Trying to get to their cars. We followed everyone out when these ass biters started to tackle people to the ground chewing off their skin until they were dead. Us 6 ran back into the house and into the basement. We stayed down here until we heard some asshole calling our names upstairs so we sent Nick up. Thought we were going to die when we heard the gun go off."

"Ass biters! I just can't with that name and I thought your name was bad Keagan." I bursted out into laughter as happy teas began to drip down my face. "That just.. that is just so great." I started to laugh even more and I could see all the people around me just staring probably thinking I was crazy. "I-I-I c-can't b-breath!" I felt my lungs began to close up and I started to couch uncontrollably.

"Shit shit shit!!" Maggie said leading me towards the ground blowing in and out trying to get me to do so. "She's having an asthma attack!" Everyone then started to get worried as I began to wheeze.

"Does anyone have an inhaler!" Maggie said frantically trying to figure out some way to help me. As my coughing got worse I began to feel my eyes close up blackness coming closer in my vision.

"SOMEONE GET ME AN INHALER OR MY BEST FRIEND IS ABOUT to DIE!"
