"Just tell her."

"W-What?!"

You sigh and shake your head, looking to your orange-haired friend.

"Tell her how you feel! If you're so in love with her, plus you two are childhood friends, it couldn't hurt." You reasoned. But, of course it could hurt. Taeko could reject him. If it happened those two got together, it could hurt other people that have a crush on Taeko. Hell, it could hurt you, too. Either way it goes.

"I can't do that! Are you stupid?!" He yelled, his face growing red. You sigh, rolling your eyes.

"Why don't you confess to whichever boy you like?" He asked. You look down, twiddling your thumbs.

"He likes someone else." You mutter. Osano's expression shifts to guilt momentarily before returning to an angry look.

"You're so dumb falling for someone who likes someone else." He insults. You sigh and roll your eyes, looking to the carpeted floor.

"You could be in no better boat than me. You know like twelve hundred people are in love with Taeko. Who's to say she doesn't like one of them more?" You retaliated.

Osano was shocked. You were never harsh or bitter towards him, but those words stung. He watched as you stood from his bed and left his room without saying anything.

He heard the front door slam shut as he sat on his bed, thinking of the exchange that had just happened. While it was true, he thought it unfair of you to say it.

You, on the other hand, were steaming. Him, of all people, calling you dumb! Of course, that's just the way he is, you knew that. But he could act a little more caring.

The next day, you walked to school alone. You made sure to leave earlier than normal so as to not run into Osano. You didn't want to talk to him after what had happened last night.

You opened your locker to change shoes before making your way to your class, sitting heavily in your seat. Your teacher spared you a glance before going back to grading the papers on her desk.

You rested your head in your arms, sighing heavily into them. A few other students had entered the class and looked at you weirdly, but soon pulled out their notebooks to get ready for class.

"Hey, idiot, why didn't you tell me you were going to school earlier?!" Osano's voice yelled out. You silently cursed, looking up at him with a glare.

You only averted your gaze from him, instead pulling your notebook out from your desk, along with a pencil.

Osano glared right back at you. Two can play the silent treatment. He sat in his desk, which was right beside yours, and pulled out his supplies. He spared you a glance, hoping to catch you looking at him or something, but you were turned to talk to the girl to your right.

He grumbled and crossed his arms, the bell ringing as he did so. At least the class will take his mind off your rude behaviour.

Lunch was different without you. Osano sat on the roof by himself, eating the bento he had made himself. He looked at the other one in his bag, for you. It was left untouched, seeing as you were nowhere to be seen.

Osano felt a pit in his stomach, an emptiness. Everything felt wrong without you. Taeko sat beside him on the bench, greeting him happily.
