Chapter 5

•~Nightmares and Lies~•

Now, onwards to the story.

3rd Person POV:

While (Y/N) was working on her story, she had just finished a few more chapters. Suddenly, something, well, someone, tugged on her pajamas pants while she was typing. (Y/N) stoped her typing and looked down beside her. She was met with a small saddened and scared looking Will. He was sniffling, and huge tears in his eyes.

The messy (H/C) haired female worriedly picked up the scared child and held him on her lap. She gently held him as he held onto her and cried a little. (Y/N) carefully rubbed Will's back to try to help him calm down.

"What happened?" She asked the child calmly.

The boy just sniffled and kept holding onto his new caretaker. He was too scared to even speak.

'N-Nightmare...'

Will told (Y/N) in her head, as he was too scared to say anything, and he couldn't given his new baby like form. Understanding, (Y/N) kept gently rubbing and patting Will's back.

"It's ok, it can't hurt you now. You're alright." The young adult female calmly replied trying her best to calm the crying child in her arms.

After some more soothing words, Will had fallen back asleep in (Y/N)'s arms. Sighing, she got up while still holding the baby, and started walking back to the bedroom only to run into Bill.

"Oh, Bill. Did you have a nightmare too?" She asked slightly concerned as to why the other child was up now too.

He shook his head no and then just walked with (Y/N) back to the bedroom. She had set Will down, yet, Will didn't wanna let go of her. He clung onto her like a scared child, which, he was so it made sense. Giving in, (Y/N) decided that she needed to most likely rest as well.

So, she also climbed into bed. Will kept holding onto (Y/N) as if wanting protection. He didn't seem to be having any nightmares anymore so, I guess it was a good tactic. Bill on the other hand tho, was on the other side of the bed. Curled up all by himself. Soon enough, (Y/N)'s mind started to fall asleep.

(Y/N)'s POV:

I woke up and felt two weights in my arms. Once my eyes were fully open I looked to each side of me and saw Will on one side of me, in one of my arms. While Bill was on the other side, also in my other arm. Then I recalled what happened last night.

Will had a nightmare and came to my office study, and when I went to set him back in bed he wouldn't let go. So I gave in and just decided to join them. Soon I heard a knocking at the door.

'Who could it be at this hour??'

I thought a bit grouchy, however when I saw what time it was. It was 12:15 in the afternoon.

'Oh, never mind then.'

I carefully moved the two kids and went downstairs to see who was knocking on the door. Once I got there, I opened the door and was face to face with Wendy and Dipper.

"Oh, hey guys. What's up?" I asked as if I didn't just wake up.

Wendy just laughed a little.

"Not you I guess, you're still in your pj's!" She exclaimed while trying not to laugh.

"Did you just wake up (Y/N)?" Dipper asked politely.

"To be honest, yeah. I went to bed kind of late." I admitted.

"Anyways~! Me, Mabel and Dipper all wanted to know if you wanted to hang out with us today. You don't have anything going on, do you?" Wendy asked.

"Uh well..."

'Quick! Quick! Think of something! You can't leave two dream demon babies by themselves! Especially since of them tried to destroy the world! Uhhh, oh!'

"Actually, today's kind of a work day. I still have a few small things I need to unpack, and I need to get everything set up for my work!" I explained quickly.

'Please don't ask to help. Please don't ask to help. Please don't ask to-'

"Oh, do you need any help?" Dipper questioned.

'-help. Dipper why?!?!'

"Nope! I should be able to do it on my own. If I need help I'll call you guys tho, you both go on and have fun. We can hang out another time." Again trying to get them to quickly leave before Will or possibly Bill show up.

"Well, ok. If you say so." Dipper replied.

"Alright. Call us if you need anything!" Wendy added before running off and Dipper followed behind. They both waved bye tho, so that was nice.

I sighed while closing the front door.

'I just lied to my cousin and her friend. I am a terrible person for doing so, but, I am doing it to protect two kids so...it's not all that bad. Right??'

I just went to the kitchen to start making some coffee, and some baby bottles full of milk for the two demon children I'll be taking care of for now.

'How long am I gonna need to take care of them? Do they grow up? Or do they stay babies forever??'

I started thinking of multiple questions while sipping my coffee. Before hearing some crying coming from upstairs. I spit out my coffee and quickly ran upstairs to the bedroom.

Once I got in the room, I saw, Will on the floor crying and holding his head, and Bill on the bed looking down at Will. Bill...didn't push Will of the bed. Did he?

"Bill, did you push your brother?" I asked slowly while going to Will.

Bill shrugged.

'I, I don't know what that means nor do I know how to respond to it.'

'Yeah, neither do I.'

'How do you not know if you pushed your brother??'

'He was asleep...and so was I. Until I fell off...'

'Yeah!'

"Ok, ok. You guys calm down."

I gently held Will, and picked up Bill. Then walked downstairs and gave both of the boys their bottles as I put cartoons on for them. I even gave Will a small ice pack for the small bump on his head. Then my mind went back to what I told Wendy and Dipper.

'Man...I'm gonna need to come up with more lies, and get better at lying. Especially if I wanna keep these children safe. Dream demons or not, they're still children, at least now they are. So they must be protected and cared for. I still can't believe I lied to my own cousin and her friend. They're going to hate me if they find out.'
