Luke POV

Man: "Luke Summers, nineteen, six foot two, has not even applied to college but shows extreme interest in technology" he looks up at me from my job application and raises an eyebrow making me tap my foot nervously "and you want to work here at ONYX industries?" I sweat a bit nervously

Me: "uh yeah I mean yes I do sir" I mentally smack myself

Man: "well I like your enthusiasm but sadly you are not qualified for this job" I slump a bit "but you knew that didn't you?" I sigh

Me: "I knew that but I really want to work here. You guys make tech that can advance us to the future" he sighs and stands up

Man: "kid you don't have the expertise to work here. Just go home" I try to argue but stop and nod standing up and leave

I exit the room and walk through the lobby looking at all the employees walking around and doing their own things

No one POV

Luke: "My name is Luke Summers and I don't exactly fit in anywhere. My mother is a biologist and my father is someone that left us. Ever since I could remember I was different from everyone else. I never knew why but today things are going to change"

Mini timeskip Luke POV

Me: "well nothing changed" I slam the front door and start to take off my shoes when my mom peeks through the kitchen doorway smiling

Mom: "did it go well?" I groan and her smile drops and I enter the kitchen taking an apple

Me: "no because I didn't go to college I can't apply" she hugs me which is kinda awkward considering she's five foot four compared to my six foot two

Mom: "it'll be okay Luke" I sigh before the smoke alarm goes off and she separates from me and runs to the oven "shit shit shit!" I laugh and help her pull our burnt dinner out of the oven

Timeskip

I exit the backdoor with a trash bag in hand and go to throw it out and see the edge of the forest in our backyard sighing at how peaceful it looks before heading for the trash bin to throw the trash away

Me: "why can't life be simple?" I toss the bag into the dumpster "or why not exciting?" I groan and start heading back for the house when I hear a tree branch snap making me look towards the forest "hello? Is anyone there?" I groan "good idea Luke just call out and let a possible killer know you're here" I shake my head and approach the forest edge

I get close and see something big hunching over in the shadows before it lunges at me making me yelp in surprise and I raise my hand up to defend myself but it bites me hard drawing blood and I yell before punching it in the nose making it yelp and toss me making me slam into something and it runs off

Nora POV

Luke has been gone for a bit now and I know he's in the backyard but something tells me something's wrong

???: "MOM!" The backdoor bangs open and I turn to see like holding his arm that's bleeding

Me: "Luke!" I reach under the sink and grab the first aid kit and run to him "what happened?" I take him to the bathroom

Luke: "I don't know something big came out of the forest and bit me!" I turn on the bath and get his arm under it and he yells in pain

Me: "whatever bit you got you deep" I wrap some bandages around his wound

In Heaven no one POV

Walking down a brightly lit hall and angel walks with a tablet towards two massive golden double doors and knocking on them

???: "Come in" an authoritative voice answers and the angel walks in to see God at his desk

Angel: "uh sir there's something going on down on Earth" God looks up at him and sighs

God: "what could be happening down on Earth?" The angel nervously hands God the tablet and his eyes widen

Angel: "sir the prophecy has commenced"
