MAN OR MONSTER?

WEIRD DAY

Luke POV

My eyes flutter open as my arm throbs and I groan not wanting to get up out of my very soft bed

Mom: "LUKE BREAKFAST IS READY!" I force myself to get up and I wince feeling my arm throb in pain

Me: "COMING MOM!" I shake my head and head for the bathroom

I get in and splash cold water on my face shivering at the cold and look into the mirror and see that I look very tired glancing at my bandaged arm. I start to unwrap it wincing at the pain and when I completely unwrap it I blink in surprise seeing the wound is healed. As in it's completely gone but before I can examine my arm further my phone vibrates and I look to see it's Angela calling me so I answer it

Angela: "did you get the job at ONYX industries?" I sigh turning off the water and putting my phone on speaker

Me: "sadly no because I didn't go to college therefore I have no skills meaning I am not qualified" I groan and sit on the edge of the tub

Angela: "well don't give up hope Luke I'm sure you'll be able to get in like I did" I hear someone barking orders in the background "sorry like I have to go" I sigh

Me: "alright then. See you tomorrow?" She hangs up and I slump knowing she isn't going to call back

Mini timeskip

Me: "goddamn stupid trees!" I scramble over a fallen tree and stumble falling over "why the hell am I even here?" I get up and yell kicking a rock sending it deeper into the forest "there's nothing even out here except trees and plants" I sigh before a twig snaps

I look around before I hear what sounds like giggling

???: "Aww is the little boy lost?" I keep looking around trying to find who's talking "something about your scent" a branch snaps and I jump as a branch slams beside me and I look into the trees "it's different from normal humans" I see glowing amber eyes and I start to back up before whatever it is lunges at me

I slam onto my back as something lands on top of me and I open my eyes and see what looks like a tiger girl wearing a tank top and shorts grinning at me with her tail swishing behind her through a hole in her shorts

Me: "tigra?" She snarls and slams my head on the ground and I groan in pain

Tiger girl: "I'm not that goddamn marvel girl you jackass!" She growls which sounds like an actual tiger growling "my name is Sam" I kinda chuckle

Me: "so you're a tiger person who's name is Sam?" She doesn't say anything and starts to sniff my neck making me squirm

Sam: "why is your scent different?" She stares into my eyes and I have to admit they are a beautiful glow of yellow "were any of your parents part of the supernatural?" I cock my head confused

Me: "the what?" She groans and jumps off me making me groan and I sit up seeing her staring at me

Sam: "god why am I even bothering talking to you?" She starts to pace and I just watch fascinated

Me: "so how do you exist?" She turns to me looking annoyed "you are a girl" I stand up and approach "and you are also a tiger so how do you exist?" She growls and pushes me backwards

Sam: "why don't you go back to your human home and never come back" she turns and starts to leave but I grab her tail making her moan and she jerks away from me slashing at my face but I dodge her sharp claws

Me: "okay okay sorry no touching the tail" she holds her tail glaring at me "what do you mean my scent is different?" She huffs and walks away and I follow "please I ne-" she disappears walking through a ripple

I cautiously approach and poke where the ripple is but my finger goes through nothing. I walk forward and walk through nothing making me sigh

Me: "did I just imagine all that?" I touch my chest and wince feeling the bruise she caused "nope it actually happened" I look around but don't see anything so I start to head back home

Angela POV

I watch as my boss starts typing something into the console and I try not to look into the containment chamber

Boss: "maybe you'll be more cooperative on telling me what I want to know" I watch as there's no answer and he slams his fist onto the console electrocuting what's in the containment chamber and it roars in agony

I look in as the flow of electricity stops and I see a humanoid dragon chained up to a wall breathing hard with injuries littering it's body

Dragon: "I'll never betray my own kind" my boss hits the button again and he roars in agony

I step back horrified by what we're doing here
