Hey guys just an update! I've decided to write in third person instead of in POVs. I hope it's alright! It's 1am and i decided to update cause whY THE HECK NOT HAHA. It picks up from right where it left off!
Deeks was kneeling on the cold, stone floor, eyes closed, hands gripping onto the bracelet Kensi had given him. Suddenly, an idea popped into his head.
"you're making a big mistake." Deeks said with as much confidence that he could dig up.
"why is that, detective?" Ramsey asked rather calmly, too calm in fact.
"I was never one of them. I never fit in with the cops, alright. I mean look at me, do i look like a proper cop to you? I'm rogue man. I'm
with you now." Deeks said, trying his best to hide his fear. He chuckled. and continued, "Time for the real deal."
Deeks took off the bracelet Kensi gave him and waved it in front of Ramsey's face.
"See this? I was in love with my partner. I just never fit in, she didn't think i'd make a good cop or an agent. I'm not one of them, Miles"
At that, he ripped the bracelet and threw it to the side. In his heart, he was hurting as that was the last thing he wanted to do. Seconds passed as Ramsey glared at Deeks, it felt like hours before he finally lowered his gun and motioned for Deeks to get up.
"Judging by the hurt look on your face, you're telling the truth, kid. You better not be playin' me. We're moving to another spot. Give me your phone and your comms."
Deeks had no choice but to do as he was told. Ramsey took it from his hands, dropped them on the ground and stepped on them without breaking the death glare he had on Deeks. Deeks was dark now.
*in OPS*
It'd been hours since Deeks last checked in and he was suppose to do so three hours ago. Kensi paced up and down trying to figure out why he hadn't checked in while Eric and Nell typed furiously on their computers to try figure out where Deeks could be. Sam and Callen were on their way back from an alley in Downtown LA where Deeks's car was ditched. Kensi unconsciously held onto the bracelet she had on, which was the same one as the one she had give Deeks.
"Oh my god i cannot find Deeks. What did he do, go rogue?" Eric cried in frustration before looking around awkwardly, realising what he had said.
Just then, Hetty came in with a pissed off expression, hands behind her back.
"That son of a bitch." She cussed under her breath.
"What is it, Hetty?" Kensi asked
"Mr Deeks called me an hour ago and we met in a bar."
"You saw Deeks?!"
"Yes and he resigned from the LAPD and told me he finally found where he belonged." Hetty said with air quotes when she said "belonged"
"Mr Deeks has gone rogue."
Kensi was confused and was furious. She wanted to talk but choked on her tears. Eric and Nell were protesting and questioning Hetty. Kensi stormed out of OPS and pushed past Sam and Callen who could then be heard protesting as well. Kensi walked out of the mission and she collapsed to her knees with her chest feeling tight. Up in OPS, it became quiet.
"It's a cover story Mr Deeks came up with on the spot. He was made and they had a gun pointed at him. Under any circumstances, do not tell Ms Blye. I don't think she can handle not having any form of contact with Mr Deeks for a long time. Their copse partnership, relationship, whatever you want to call it may blow his cover...cover story." Hetty explained clearly and firmly.
Kensi was still outside and was on the verge of tears. She didn't want to believe it but Hetty had never sounded so angry and Deeks would never resign from the LAPD in the middle of an op. Just then, her phone rang.
"Kens?"
