Carmella
About a week had passed after I was able to speak again. I had two major events, the talent show and the winter formal. Musa, Liv, Alexa and I have been preparing for the show countless times.
Finally, the day came. I was ready for this. We were ready for this, after all the hours we had put in for this.
We were standing backstage waiting for the group ahead of us to finish. We were the last group to perform so we had to give it our all in order to try and win the crowns and the trophy. We heard the music stop and the audience start clapping.
"Ok, you guys ready for this?", I asked.
They all nodded their heads. Mrs.Van Dale went on stage and spoke into the microphone.
"Ok, our last act is a tearjerker, so grab your tissues and please help me welcome Musa Forte, Carmella Rossi, Liv DeLong, and Alexa Kauffman!". The lights went dark.
We walked out in a single file line. Me, then Alexa, then Musa, then Liv. We all spaced out about a good 2 feet away from each other.
The music started and a soft spotlight came on over Musa.
M :
I am, the diamond you left in the dust
I am, the future you lost in the past
Seems like, I never compared
Wouldn't notice if I disappear
You stole, the love that I saved for myself
And I watched, you give it to somebody else
But these scars, no longer I hide
I found the light you shut inside
Couldn't love me if you tried
Am I still not, good enough?
Am I still not, worth that much?
I'm sorry for the way my life turned out
I'm sorry for the smile I'm wearing out
Guess I'm still not good enough
The spotlight dimmed on Musa and went to Alexa.
A :
Does it burn?
Knowing I used all the pain
Does it hurt?
Knowing you're fuel to my flame
Don't look back
Don't need your regrets
Thank god you let my love behind
Couldn't change me if you tried
Her spotlight dimmed, as Liv's came on.
L :
Am I still not, good enough?
Am I still not, worth that much?
I'm sorry for the way my life turned out
I'm sorry for the smile I'm wearing out
Guess I'm still not good enough
It was my turn now, I waited for Liv's to shut off, and I started to sing.
C :
Release your curse
Cause I know my worth
Those wounds you made
Are gone you ain't seen nothing yet
Your love wore thin
And I never win
You want the best
So sorry that's clearly not me
This is all I can be
All of our spotlights came on and we united our voices for the last few lyrics.
All :
Am I still not, good enough?
Am I still not, worth that much?
I'm sorry for the way my life turned out
I'm sorry for the smile I'm wearing out
Guess I'm still not good enough(Good Enough by Little Mix, go check it out)
Our lights dimmed and the crowd started cheering. We had a group hug onstage and we walked backstage.
"We did it!", Liv squealed.
"Let's just hope we get the votes from the audience", Alexa said.

After about 15 minutes of waiting, all the votes were in and all ten groups were brought back to the stage.
"Alright everyone, the votes were counted up, are you ready to hear the winners?", Mrs.Van Dale asked.
The audience and the groups started clapping.
"The winners of this year's talent show..".
I held onto the girls hands.
"Who won by only one vote...are...".
I held my breath and squeezed my eyes shut.
"Good Enough!! That's Musa, Carmella, Liv, and Alexa!!!".
I opened my eyes in shock and hugged the girls while bouncing up and down.
We walked up to the very front of the stage. A diamond tiara was placed on each one of our heads. And we were given the trophy.
"How about a hand for our winners and the rest of our groups?".
The audience started going nuts with the applause.
We headed backstage and hugged once again.
"Oh my god, how freakin' stressful was that?", Musa asked.
""Very, but it paid off well in the end". I tried handing the trophy to Musa, but she pushed it back into my hands.
"Why aren't you taking it?", I asked confused.
"Because we've been trying to win that contest and we felt you were our good luck charm and missing piece. So we want you to have it".
I was touched that they felt this way.
"Aww, you guys are the best friends ever", I said pulling them into a group hug.
"Well, let's go get the guys and celebrate with chicken pot pie at Mella's!", Liv cheered.
We walked out into the grand hall to see if we could find the guys. We heard a commotion over by the showcases.
"Those girls cheated! They used a recording!".
I recognized the voice. Oh my god, it was Summer. She was trying to make us look bad just because her team didn't win.
We pushed through the crowd.
"Woah, there", Musa said.
"Don't you be spreading lies about us just because you didn't have it your way this year", Liv snapped.
She looked shocked.
"Here, let's prove our voices are legit! Would y'all like to see another performance from us?!", Alexa snapped.
The crowd started cheering and clapping.
We walked back into the auditorium and walked on stage.
"Oh, and look Summer", I said. I fluffed my hair and lifted my shirt to show I had no devices or wires on me. The girls repeated my actions.
"No wires, secret microphones, no devices, no nothing. Just some regular microphones", I said.
We huddled and quickly had to come up with a song idea.
"How about Told You So by Little Mix?", Liv asked.
We nodded our heads. Liv ran backstage and asked the music technicians to play the karaoke soundtrack.
The music started playing and we all smirked at each other.
